Read the powerpoint on the principles and elements of design and answer the following questions.

Elements:

1.  What are the 5 characteristics of a line?

2.  What 3 groups of colors do we have?

3.  What are 3 colors that all other colors are made of?

4.  What is a shape?

5.  What are the 2 types of shapes

6.  What is space?

7.  What is positive space? What is negative space? (you have to look this one up)

8.  What could you do to a visual to make it look like it has a certain texture?

9.  What 3 features does form include?

10.What 4 main forms are all other forms in design created from?

Your task:

You will need to create your own logo that incorporates all elements of design that you learned: Texture, form, color, shape, line, space.

If you search logos on the net you will find lots of examples.

I will provide the blank paper. What is not finished in class will be for homework. Put Elements at the top of your page. On the front of the page using arrows, neatly point out and label all the elements that you incorporated in your logo.

All questions and drawing will be put in your duotang and submitted for marks.

Principles:

1.  What is balance?

2.  What two types of balance are there?

3.  What is meant by alignment?

4.  What kinds of alignment can you have?

5.  How can you use contrast in design?

6.  How are similar elements arranged on a page?

7.  How are different elements arranged on a page?

8.  What is rhythm?

9.  What would be an example of rhythm used in design?

Your task:

You will need to create your own product ad that incorporates all principles of design that you learned: Balance, contrast, alignment, rhythm and proximity. Choose whatever product you want to promote (ex. Pepsi, Milk, Ford…whatever)

If you search product ads on the net you will find lots of examples
