Soccer Tournaments

Two tournaments will be hosted in this year in Kearney! The Kearney Spring Fling held April 30 & May 1st and the long standing Kearney Invitational Soccer Tournament June18th &19th. The tournamentsare sponsored by the Kearney Soccer Club (KSC) for the benefit of all teams. The Kearney Soccer Club is a non-profit, educational organization whose mission is to foster the physical, mental and emotional growth and development of Kearney Area youth through the sport of soccer at all levels of age and competition. The Kearney Soccer Club (KSC) was established in the early 1990’s to introduce the game of soccer to rural Nebraska. Today, Kearney is home to the UNK Lopers Women’s NCAA Division II team, highly ranked high school teams and over 900 youth playing soccer. KSC has worked diligently to enhance the skill development of our youth from ages 4 to 18 years.

One of the goals is to raise money for the club and for all the teams. Hosting a tournament brings a significant number of people to Kearney, which benefits area businesses, our parks and our soccer club. We are seeking sponsorships for our two tournaments.

The funds will be used for specialty projects, equipment and club administration in order to keep fees low for area youth. Thank you in advance for your sponsorship of this years tournaments. We appreciate the community support for such a great program!

About the tournaments

  • The Kearney Invitational Soccer Tournament, sponsored by the Kearney Soccer Club, is one of the longest running tournaments in Nebraska, celebrating over 20 years of tradition. The Trius Federal Credit Union Spring Fling is a new tournament (3 years) aimed to get more younger teams to Kearney early in the season.
  • The Tournaments are for youth aged U-9 to U-19 and attracts teams from all over Nebraska and surrounding states. Last year we brought over 140 teams to Kearney between the two tournaments.
  • The Kearney Soccer Club exceeded expectations last year with over 70 teams participating in each event!!! This exceeds 2000 players, coaches, and spectators in Kearney for 2-3 days and we are doing it TWICE!

Event Dates and Location:April 30-May 1 and June 18-19, 2016 at Ted Baldwin Park and West Lincolnway Park in Kearney.

Organization: The Kearney Soccer Club, led by community volunteers, coordinates all aspects of the tournament. Funds raised by the tournament support Developmental and Select soccer programs in the Kearney Area.
