2015 Outstanding Alumni Award

The College of Education and Human Development is now accepting nominations for Outstanding Alumni Awards through April 8, 2015. There are two categories of alumnus awards – the Early Career Award and the Outstanding Alumni Awards. One award may be presented to an early career graduate who earned his or her degree within the past five years and meets the award criteria. Up to three additional awards may be presented to alumni who graduated five or more years ago.

Eligibility: Individuals, living or deceased, meeting the following eligibility requirements, will be considered for recognition as Outstanding Alumni:

  1. Graduate of the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University (undergraduate or graduate) or predecessor major (see list below)
  2. Not a previous recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award (NOTE: All previously nominated and awarded Notable Graduates meeting the remaining criteria are eligible.)
  3. Not currently employed by Texas A&M University
  4. Nominees who have earned their most recent degree within the past five years are eligible for consideration only for the Outstanding Alumni Award that will be presented to an early career alumni

Criteria: The college will recognize and honor its graduates who contribute to Texas and the nation based consideration of one or both of the following criteria:

  1. Evidence of state, national and/or international leadership in education and/or health
  2. Provides extraordinary support for the benefit of the college

Nomination Format: The complete nomination file may not exceed eight pages.

The following items are required.

  1. Nomination form (attached) to include:
    a. Nominee's name, address, telephone number and email
    b. Nominator's name, address, telephone number and email
  2. Two page vita to include:
    a. Nominee's education (degrees, honorary degrees, names of institutions, year conferred)
    b. Nominee's awards (professional, community, business, etc.)
    c. Nominee's accomplishments and contributions
  3. Nomination letter
  4. Letters of support (maximum of two)

Presentation: Award winners will be recognized at the College's Awards Celebration to be held in the Fall of 2015. The specific date and time of the awards dinner is yet to be determined. Dinner will be complimentary for each honoree and up to seven guests.
