The company has gone live this year as a broker service with an expectation to begin trading combined newly purchased market Turquoise early next year. To compliment the products a full BI suite is to be implemented within short notice and having to remain flexible during early stages of trading. It must be tested according to rigorous standard and offer full recollection and analysis of the company references and transactions.
Required Responsibilities:
·  To design and plan a solution with Microsoft SQL server 2008 business intelligence products to meet requirements for the management information, surveillance and well formed market checks.
·  To develop the solution, providing automated data transfer, regular financial reports and an advance OLAP analytical environment.
·  To provide consultation and training and ensure tight quality assurance requirements for service delivery are met.
·  To conclusively document the solution and manage testing and deployment.
Solution Synopsis:
·  The solution collected multiple overnight and real time feeds from trading systems (Tradelect, Smarts and Fidessa) and disparate updatable sources such as rates, fees and references from a Teradata system, CSV files and streamed messaging, via an integrated modular SSIS solutions fired via ControlM. The data was stored in a staging data store that transformed into a dimensional data warehouse and complimentary OLAP database and cube. A series of dynamic connections and required views were set up with Performance point and the majority of canned reports were delivered using reporting services; however the heavy brunt of the analysis made available through live connection with Excel to a cloned presentation OLAP cube. The solution used complex ETL processes allowing for simpler MDX and a faster cube processing time. The solution was design to be highly available and fully recoverable using very large data sets.
