Course Description:

This course is geared for the mature, technically savvy, self-motivated student. It facilitates the technical applications of professional production to include scriptwriting, shooting, lighting and editing using high-end editing software such as; Final Cut Pro and I Movies, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Livetype and Garageband. This course is geared for the advanced student interested in pursuing further opportunities in TV & Film Production

1 Demonstration of composting layering.

1 PSA

1 10 minute movie

1 4 page research paper on an actor or director of your choice

Grading scale 1st nine weeks

-Exercises 40%

-Class Participation 20%

-Projects Edited programs 40%

Grading scale 2nd nine weeks

-Class Participation 50%

-Projects Edited programs & Term paper 50%

-Exercises – Exercises are designed to determine the knowledge students have of the various production techniques and the finer points of editing

-Class Participation – Actively engage in class activities and discussions.

-Video Projects - Students must actively participate in the script creation, shooting and post–production duties of their team video projects. Complex editing techniques must be featured in the programs to include narration, graphics creation, musical enhancements, animations, special effects (including green screen) and fast-paced editing sequences

-Final Exam – True & False, Fill-in-the-blank and essay exam based on course exercises and class discussion. (20%)
