Music Scheduler Intern
M-Net Afrikaans Channels Division seeks to appoint a suitably qualified Employment Equity individual to assume the role of Music Scheduler Intern, on a permanent basis, to effectively source music video contentin line with the Programming objectives of the channel, as well as to maintain rotations and database. This position reports to the Head of Music Content andProgramming andwill be based at our offices in Randburg.

- All business units within Mnet
OUTPUTS
- To generate a daily music schedule and check for song history conflicts
- To ensure rotations and database management upkeep is done on a daily basis
- To ensure scheduling clocks are fully functional
- To provide final approval of the finished daily log
- To report on ICASA/SAMRO compliance on a monthly basis
- To have pro-active and creative discussions around music programming (for public holidays and special projects) and ensure effective implementation thereof
- To ensure good relationships are maintained with Record Companies on behalf of the channel
- To stay abreast of international and local popular music trends
- To Participate in weekly Playlist Meetings
- Maintain music industry relationships
- Schedule on air promos
- Liaise with DStv Media Sales with regards to any problems with ad break lengths
- Be responsible for on-air playout and liaise with MCR with regards to any on-air error
- Send weekly feedback to artists, labels and Managers with regards to the outcome of their video submission
- Source Local and International video content for the channel
- Liaise with editors and library with regards to the frequent transference of new material onto the system
- Contribute to content development where needed for the Channel.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED.
- A relevant tertiary qualification(Media, Music, TV, Radio)
- Must be fluent in Afrikaans
- Must exhibit strong knowledge of Afrikaans music
- Strong interest in and understandingof Afrikaans music
- Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential
- Passion and in depth knowledge of music
