Veterinary Medical Alumni Association at ISU PO Box 1726

Ames, Iowa 50010

August 30, 2011

Dear Alumnus:

The traditions of Homecoming are always welcomed events. Once again the Veterinary Medical Alumni Association will host a pre-game luncheon catered by Hickory Park at the College of Veterinary Medicine from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 22. The ISU vs. Texas A&M football game, tentatively set for 1:00 p.m., will follow. The starting time could change with very short notice if the game is televised. We will try to notify those who put in orders, but cannot guarantee notification if the notice we receive is too short (call 1-888-ISU-CYCLONE for game information).

Prior to the luncheon, you are invited to meet with other alumni to visit the new Veterinary Medical Center Small Animal Clinic. Tours will depart from the entrance of the Veterinary Medical Library beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Iowa State University recognizes many outstanding alumni award recipients during Homecoming, including our CVM alumni selected as Stange Award recipients. The Stange Awardees to be honored this year are Dr. William McCulloch, DVM 1956, Dr. Mark Anderson, DVM 1975, and Dr. Craig Harms, DVM 1989.

We have purchased a block of 100 football tickets, which will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Due to the demand for football tickets, we encourage you to order as soon as possible. Once the reserved tickets are taken, we will attempt to purchase additional tickets but cannot guarantee that the seats will be near the original group. We also require advance orders for the luncheon and the traditional mum corsages, which must be received by October 6. Should your plans change and you wish to order tickets after this deadline, please call Marta Burkgren at 515-233-5183. Every effort will be made to get tickets but we cannot guarantee availability. We cannot sell corsages or luncheon tickets on Homecoming day. Football tickets, luncheon tickets, and corsages will be held at the College and given to you when you arrive, beginning at 9:00 a.m. outside the Alumni Room. Parking is available in Lot 96 southwest of the main entrance to the College of Veterinary Medicine. You will be admitted for free when you indicate to the lot attendants that you are with the College of Veterinary Medicine Homecoming Event. Complimentary shuttle buses will be available to help with transportation needs between the College and the football game.

Please plan to spend Homecoming with us. We hope you will join your classmates, their friends and families for a day of fun in Cyclone Country!

Sincerely,

Kathleen Mullin, D.V.M.

Secretary-Treasurer
