Early Assurance Program (EAP) Application Timeline
Sophomores (Class of 2020) may apply to the Middlebury Health Professions Committee (HPC) in consideration of early admissions programs.
2017-2020 Application Details and Timeline
1. At the fall First-Year/Sophomore Pre-Health Meeting on Tuesday, September 26th, at 7:00 pm in Coltrane Lounge, we will discuss Early Assurance Programs.
2. November 15, 2017 - Fill out the Committee Selection Form, email a headshot (can be a selfie as it is for internal use only) and open a FREE Interfolio account. You do NOT need to pay anything for Interfolio. Simply open up your account and don’t upgrade to the dossier service.
3. Interested candidates should complete the process for evaluation by the HPC by: January 15, 2018. This requires that you complete the EAP Application. You will also need to list at least ONE (1) reference from a science faculty at Middlebury who can vouch for your academic ability and promise. For committee purposes, you only need one letter but can have more if you wish.
4. It is expected that applicants will have completed one year of chemistry, one year of biology, and a calculus or stats course by the end of the sophomore year.
5. The HPC will endorse and advance applications to affiliated medical schools that they determine to be outstanding. Applicants will be informed of the status of their applications between May 15 and June 15, 2018 (to allow for final semester grades, if necessary).
6. The committee letter will be written and forwarded to the respective medical school by August 15, 2018.
7. Nominees will be directed to complete the application of the appropriate medical school between June and September 2018.
8. Nominees will be invited to interview at the respective medical school during Fall 2018, and given a decision soon thereafter.
9. Geisel Dartmouth EAP students will be provided a research opportunity during summer 2019.
10. Geisel Dartmouth EAP students will be expected to have taken the MCAT by the beginning of the senior year, Fall 2019.
11. Matriculation to medical school in Fall 2020.
