I.  Call to Order – Meg

A.  Meg called the meeting to order at 7:10pm

II. Opening Activity – All

A. What are you most looking forward to over Spring Break?
III. Minutes – Adrienne/ All

A. Motion to pass minutes from 3-8-07 passes 9-0-1

IV. Constitutional Review – Meg/All

A.  Impeachment language for all cabinets/ Committees

1.  Georgia says every committee/cabinet should have an impeachment section (2/3 vote of committee or cabinet)

2.  Write up impeachment language for your committee/cabinet so it can go to Senate

V.  Staff Appreciation Day – Meg/All

A. Week of April 22nd

1. New cabinet and old cabinet do it together; week after elections

B. Week of activities/ day of activities?

2. 2004: delivered bagels; 2005: event on the lawn; 2006: Campus Center: free food, a capella groups, but it was pricey and not much attendance from students or staff

3. Print out notification card about Staff Appreciation Day to staff

4. Will people go? Perhaps: send out card to staff in advance, invite them to come by the front of the CC at a certain time, and give out cookies/ice cream sandwiches/etc.; encourage students to invite and escort their favorite staff member

5. Number of staff: several hundred

6. Give each staff member a flower (carnation)?

7. Chalk everywhere, especially because Physical Plant is far away from most of campus

8. Houses get really involved and do separate things on their own

9. Have a list of staff groups (HR, housekeeping, etc.), and deliver a group of cards with flowers to a central location to be put in people’s boxes

10. Students write personalized letters to staff, drop it off at the SGA office, and it will be sent to the staff member’s mailbox

11. Wednesday 25 April, 8am-11am; flowers, notes

VI.  Election Updates/ Special Guest: Nicole

A.  What do you want do know about the finalized election schedule?

1. Week after Spring Break: sign-ups Monday to Saturday; Sunday 1 April 8pm is the mandatory candidates meeting

2. Has tentative interview times

B.  Constitution

1. ~20 ballot measures

2. Section to “Approve all changes”?

3. Would be easier to have it by section

4. If voting by article, would add about 20 more sections to the election grid

5. Would receive the articles by 4 April

6. Send articles (with old article and amended article)

7. Changes will be posted on the website before elections along with the candidates’ statements

C.  How can cabinet support Nicole?

1. Committee chairs send Nicole committee descriptions so she can update materials and think of interview questions

D. Constitution and Bylaws

1. Student body will vote whether or not cabinet can change the bylaws

2. If this passes, we will take the bylaws to Senate

3. Impeachment should be in the Constitution; moved to Section IV

4. You are responsible for writing the impeachment clause for your committee

a. Meg will write an impeachment-by-2/3 clause and send it out; please respond if you want it or not; if not, write your own

b. We will vote on the entire Constitution at the next meeting!

c. HPA can impeach a member of its constituency by x. Additionally, HPs are accountable to their house constitutions

VII.  Committee Updates – All

A.  Molly

1. President Christ came to HPA on Tuesday, had a heated discussion about housing renovations, she shared what exactly will be renovated over the summer, brought up what could possibly happen with open dining rooms (a few weeks after Spring Break, notification e-mails will go out saying what might happen with these spaces)

B. Kamille

1. Starting advertisement for film the week after Spring Break, filming will begin the week after

C. Michele

1. JB apps due Wednesday after Spring Break, can pick them up at the second floor of Clark Hall

D. Ayesha

1. Nominations for Commencement 2008 speaker are starting

VIII.  General College Updates – Meg

A. Helpful people list

1. Having students aware of their resources on campus

2. Table tents with people’s faces

3. Posters with people

4. Go to someone other than counseling services

B. Office of Institutional Diversity office hours in CC cafe = every Wed. 6:30-8pm

1. Jennifer Walters trying to make position more accessible

2. So will hold office hours in the CC café to talk about anything!

C. Pub meeting

1. Over Spring Break – it will stay open, but on which nights?

2. Mixed drinks? Malt liquor (Smirnoff, Mike’s Hard Lemonade)?

3. Entertainment – is it keeping people away? People’s collective tastes will not merge

4. WOZQ wants to streamline into the pub; can’t get radio signal into that space, so they want to stream the broadcast; have the DJs make a CD for every week

5. Theme nights: jazz, swing, country
