November is Rotary Foundation month. A time to highlight our commitment to the important work accomplished by the Rotary Foundation
Paul Harris Fellow/Herb Langford Fellow Banquet
The banquet will be on November 27th at the Doyle Convention Center Goyens Room. Cocktails will be at 6:00 with Dinner and Program at 7:00 p.m.
The Club will honor recipients of a PHF and/or HLF. This is an evening event and will be in lieu of the noon meeting. If you are planning to attend please return the response card to Dawn by November 20th. Benno’s will be catering a buffet style dinner

Dorthea Jones – November 8th – Dorthea joined the club on September 15, 2009 under the classification Funeral Director. She was proposed by Jay Carnes. Dorthea is a funeral director at Carnes Funeral Home and is very involved in her church and with her family.
Ron Plackemeier, November 9th – Ron joined Rotary on January 7, 1993 under the classification Law – Tax – Ad Valorem. He was proposed by Ed Wesley. Ron is an attorney & partner in the Law firm of Lyons & Plackemeier. He is a multiple PHF, and involved with many community organizations such at TC Optimist Club (past Distinguished President); TC/LM Chamber of Commerce Past President (recipient of the Leslie Hayley Community Service Award), 12th Man Foundation, and a former Aggie Yell Leader. He is married to Gayle and they have four children.

Thanksgiving Food Drive
The annual Food Drive will be held again on Saturday, November 17th in the Kroger parking lot. There are sign up sheets on the tables. Those in the community that donate will receive a BBQ sandwich as a thank you. The food will go to the Gleanings of the Harvest Food Bank in time for those less fortunate people to have food on their tables for the holiday.

Community Thanksgiving Feast Donations
Thanks to all your generosity last week for the Community Thanksgiving Feast. A total of $800.00 was collected to help feed those less fortunate citizens in Texas City.
Rotary Ann Holiday Party
Mark your calendar for the annual Rotary Ann Holiday Party on Monday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the home of Paula and Phil Roberts. All attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped gift for a child. All members are encouraged to attend and bring family, friends and co-workers. This will count at the Rotary Fellowship and Makeup event for December. Please notify Rotary Ann President Kerry Whitener at if you are planning to attend.
