Parents of Children at Stubbins School

13th January 2017

Dear Parents,

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Parent Governor at Stubbins Primary School. The vacancy is due to Mr McKennell’s term of office ending and becoming a co-opted Governor.

The role of Governor at a school is a privileged and responsible one. It requires the ability to think about the needs of all people within the school. At Stubbins School, equality is a key principle for treating all people fairly and creating a society in which everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their potential - irrespective of their gender, ethnicity, disability, religion or belief, sexual orientation, age or any other recognised area of discrimination.

At Stubbins School, children are at the centre of everything we do. We aim to give our children the best possible opportunities and learning experiences, enabling them to reach their full potential. We aim to ensure that the children in our care are equipped for life- long learning as responsible citizens in an ever-changing, diverse local and world-wide community. We believe that everyone has the capacity to become great if they have the courage to challenge themselves. We all have the responsibility to make this happen by nurturing creativity, enjoyment & ambition; learning and growing together.

If you feel able to support our school and work with us to move forward in this vision, then please consider standing for Parent Governor.

I have included the following documents for your consideration:

  1. Who are Parent Governors?
  2. Disqualification from holding a governorship.
  3. Notice of Election & Nomination Form.

The timetable for the process has been set so that the result of the nomination and election can be announced on Thursday 23rd February 2017. We would be delighted if the successful candidates could join us at the Governors Meeting on Monday 13th March at 6.30pm.

Yours sincerely,

Mr A J Danson
