TITLE: Laborer (3rd Shift - OCCT – Part Time) DEPARTMENT: OCCT

GRADE /SALARY RANGE: SG-6 $14, 433(50%) NUMBER OF POSITIONS: One (1)

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: A Laborer may be a member of a crew or work independently performing routine manual laboring duties supporting common maintenance service-type activities i.e., cleaning the interiors of all OCC Transport, Inc. vehicles, washing the exteriors of all OCC Transport, Inc. vehicles, collecting mileage and fuel usage records, aiding in the procurement of parts, assisting OCCT with work associated with DOT regulations, checking supply stocks, maintaining a clean work environment, etc. Including other tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: There are no educational or experience requirements. Applicants must be physically able to perform heavy physical labor. Additional job requirements include:

**Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

**Ability to perform heavy manual labor.

**Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.

** Ability to read and interpret simple gauges.

** Licensed to operate a motor vehicle in New York State.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS: Candidate must possess, or be able to acquire, a CDL-B driver's license permit with air brake within thirty (30) days and licensure within the first six months of probationary period.

SPECIAL INFORMATION:The initial assignment for this position will be in the OCCT Bus Garage under the supervision of the Office of University Transportation.The normal workweek will be Wednesday to Sunday from 3:00 am to 7:00 am. Pass days will be Monday and Tuesday. The successful candidate will be subject to pre-employment and random/mandatory drug and alcohol testing pursuant to federal regulations. The candidate for this position will be deemed a university essential employee.

Additional Information: The successful candidate for this position must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position satisfactorily. Since the activities of other employees depend upon the performance of the employee in this position, reliable attendance is a factor that the employer will consider when filling this vacancy.
