Special Sale Rules

  1. All cattle must be consigned by calling Doug Bass at 979-877-4454 or Scottie Schwartz at 979-830-7769. Once we confirm consignments, it is important to send your nomination form and Texas Animal Health Commission Cattle Identification Form in as soon as possible as we need this information to be able to advertise your cattle properly.
  1. ALL cattle must be pre-tagged before arriving at the auction barn. CBLA assigned number tags should be placed in the left ear and the blank yellow tag should be placed in the right ear with age and palpation status. Open heifers and bulls will only require numbered ear tag in the left ear.
  1. CBLA will furnish numbered ear tags (left ear) and blank tags for age and palpation status (right ear) to all consignors.
  1. Pairs must be matched before arrival with cow and calf having corresponded numbered ear tags. Please do not bring calves less than 30 days old.
  1. All bulls must be fertility and trichomoniasis tested prior to the sale and paperwork provided to the barn. A trichomoniasis virgin status certificate must be provided for virgin bulls if they are under 18 months of age OR are between 18 and 30 months of age and breeder’s veterinarian certifies that the breeder has sufficient management practices and facilities to ensure that animals are virgins (veterinarian signature required).
  1. Any cattle consigned as registered must provide registration papers when the cattle arrive at the barn to be represented as such.
  1. Each consignor is responsible and liable for the breeding, age, health and all fiscal warranties, expressed or implied on the cattle consigned. Consignor warrants and guarantees there are no liens or other legal restrictions against the cattle consigned and agree not to hold Cattleman’s Brenham Livestock Auction, auctioneer(s), agents, or any other representative of the cattle, if legal action should ever occur.
  1. Each seller is responsible for the transportation of their cattle. The cattle will be cared for at the sale barn, but hay and other costs will be at the seller’s expense until the cattle are sold.
  1. A selling fee of 6% or Pass out fee (PO) of 3% of the seller’s gross will be withheld to cover selling expenses and charges. Any consignor that PO’s all cattle consigned will pay the PO fee before picking up cattle. PROCEEDS WILL BE MAILED ON THE 10TH (TENTH) BUSINESS DAY FOLLOWING THE SALE!
