Installation Overview
Arby’shas engaged AT&T/DIRECTV to install our programming service into their restaurants
This document will address the configuration and requirements for successful installs.
NOTE:Installations are to be done as a 1 day truck rollprocess
Pre-Installation Requirements
- Pre-call is required 1 to 2 business days prior to confirm schedulingarrival time with site GC
- Work order cannot to be up scheduled
- Work must be performed on the dates specified
General requirements
- All work must start at 7:00AM
- All work must be complete by 10:00AM and cleaned up daily to ensure no disruption to the business
- Technicianson time arrival as schedule with the GC
- Technician MUST be uniformed with visible proper I.D.
- Work order fulfillment will come from technician van stock
- ConfirmthattheTV’s are on-sitebeforestartingany work
- If theTV’s are noton-site,tech willcontactfieldsupervisor/dispatchimmediately
- Supervisor/Dispatchwill placethe jobon-holdandnotifyCommercial Operationsimmediately
- Any installationthat cannot be completed will require pictures from the tech submitted to Commercial Operations at
- Any work needed outside the normal scope for installation will need DIRECTV approval
- Tech is instructed to contact their supervisor and Commercial Operationsimmediately
- NO CHARGESare to be discussed or collected by technician
Equipment Requirements
- Ka/KuODU with SL5S LNB,NPRMw/pad, 8 concreteblock
- PI29 power supply
- 3 H25 receiver(s) w/mounting bracket, RF remotes/dongles, and 10PIN cables
Project Onsite Hours
- The hours of fulfillment are 7:00AM-10:00AM
- Please send more than 1 technician if the times are not able to be met with 1 technician alone
- All work must be complete by 10:00AM and site cleaned up to ensure no disruption to the business
- No work is to be performed outside these hours
ODU Install
- AllInstallationswillbea newKa/KuODU,SL5S LNB NPRM/wpad, andaminimumof 8 ballast block
oNOTE: NPRMisthe preferred mountingoption
- Bonding of the DIRECTV ODU and system in accordance with Local and NEC standards
- Route RG-6 cable through an APPROVED roof penetration, provided by the GCto central wiring location(ensure LL approval if needed)
Interior Site Work
- With GC, determine receiver mounting locationsforeach TV
- Tech is responsible for installation of RG-6 to all receiver locations
- Determine coax homerun routing to central location with GC
- Existing cable may be reused
- New connectors are required
- InstallPI-29, and splitterat the coax home run location
Receiver Setup TV location
- Receiver must be mounted concealed from customer view
- Mount receivers behind the TV when room permits
- Receivers may be placed above TV, in the false ceiling, if there is no other way to conceal it
- At not no time should a technician remove a customer’s TV from its mount
- If the DIRECTV technician needs access to a receiver that is not readily accessible, they are to ask the site for assistance, and have them remove the TV from the mount
- DIRECTV technician will authorize receives and conduct proper system test
- HDMI connectionis the preferred connection to all TV locations
- Activate receivers and verify DIRECTV programming at all TV locations
Receiver Setup Sonic Tap location
- Receiver must be installed near audio amp/monitor for Sonic Tap(provided by customer)
- Connect H25 receiver to audio amp/monitor
- Activate receiver and verify DIRECTV programming at monitor location
- Verify audio distribution
Remote Programming
- RF RCxxremoteswillbeused onallinstalledsystems
- Program each remotetocontrol receiver/TV
Final Steps
- Completion ofall applicableforms(e.g.Workorder) and obtaining GCpersonnel’ssignaturecertifyingthejob hasbeencompleted
- Capture photographs
- ODU
- Ground
- Homerun distribution
- TV/Receiver locations
- Clean up and remove all DIRECTV debrisfromthebusinesslocation.ThisincludesremovalofemptyDIRECTVequipmentboxesat customer’srequest

Any installation that cannot be completed will require validation from tech supervisor along with an email to with reason for installation delay
In addition to all of the above, all work must be performed in accordance with the requirements of the Statement of Work for Commercial Installations.
