Laboratory Decommissioning Process -Bret Pearsall from Environmental Health & Safety distributed the “Laboratory Equipment Decommissioning Procedure” together with a Laboratory Equipment Decommissioning Form and Laboratory Close Out Checklist. Building occupants should feel free to contact EH&S for more information when vacating a lab. The procedures and forms may be found at
  1. Asbestos Guides–Physical Facilities has updated its online resource regarding asbestos on campus. The asbestos guide is now much more user friendly and is only available to people who are on campus throughthe Physical Facilities website.   1. Maximo Service Request System-Michael Kukawa and Julie Carl from Physical Facilities made a presentation on Physical Facilities new service request system. Hand outs were distributed. Some key points of the presentation:

The important of making sure you sign in and out was stressed (this could cause you to not be able to sign back on)

It was strongly suggested that you use Firefox for optimal performance

The Division of Administration’s strategic plan includes a project to implement a key inventory system on campus. A committee will be established to discuss the following: 1) what is the long range plan for building access on campus, 2) many departments have responsibilities related to key and building access. Should this structure be revisited? 3) A policy needs to finally be developed regarding building access roles and responsibilities on campus.
