Christmas Holiday Dates
The Surgery will be closed on

On the 29th 30th of December
Reception will be open from 7.30-8.00 for pre booked appointments only and 8.30am - 6.00pm and surgeries will run for urgent appointments only between 9.00am – 11.00am and 4.00pm – 5.30pm, these appointments can only be booked on the day. For the 24th and 31st we will be closing at 4pm.
There will be no Baby Clinic on the Wednesday 31st December.
Normal surgery will resume on Friday 2nd January 2015 at 8.15am

Appointments
Every week a large number of appointments are wasted because people fail to turn up or don’t let us know in sufficient time to make these appointments available. Medical emergencies are always dealt with on the same day but please try to help us to help you by cancelling any unwanted appointments.
STAFF CHANGES
Goodbye and happy retirement to Lynda who has been a receptionist here for 25 years, she has been here through premises changes and numerous staff changes, we thank her for all her hard work over the years and wish her every happiness for her retirement.
A warm welcome back to Trudy our Practice Nurse who is joining Emma and Claire.
Repeat Prescriptions
Please allow plenty of time to order your prescription for the holiday period.
Repeat prescriptions are available 48 hours (2 working days) from when you drop it into surgery. or allow 72 hours, to collect from the chemist.
We cannot give a prescription to anyone under the age of 16, and we do need to see the yellow permission card if you are collecting for someone else, these are available from reception.
For repeat prescriptions please put in writing or use a repeat slip. We do not accept telephone requests except if you are housebound.
Have you tried our on-line service? Or EPS. Please ask the receptionist for details, they will issue you with a password and all the information you need to order prescriptions, make and/or cancel appointments.
Text Reminders
Make sure we have your up to date mobile phone numbers so you get all your appointment reminders.
We can send you a text message reminder two days before your appointment. But
please ensure that we have your current mobile number.

PPG News
I am pleased to say that we have had a good year with the PPG, they have raised £372.00 for Alzheimer’s Research by doing a sponsored walk. They have initiated a monthly coffee morning that is proving successful and also have had a positive outcome of helping us to improve our access with the implementation of the 48 hour appointments.

Friends & Family Test
I am sure many of you will have heard on the news about this new NHS initiative the friends and family test it is a short survey that we would like our patients to complete. It is only 2 questions at present, you can do this via our website or ask the receptionist or GP for a card and shortly we will have a tablet installed for your convenience to quickly record your comments before you leave.
