327. The following applications were considered, based on the information available

09/0247/LBC
The Town Council recommends refusal of this application. Within the Town Council’s knowledge there has been no previous commercial sign on the Dowell Street side of the building; there is a blue plaque on this wall but this application would be a considerable extension of signage and would not be acceptable. The sign over the main door is of a height and size not in keeping with the commercial part of the building and does not reflect the residential nature of the upper floors. A smaller sign would be more acceptable. / Mr G Symonds / The Globe, 165 High Street, Honiton EX14 1LQ
2 illuminated and 1 nonilluminated fascia signs
09/0246/ADV (delegated power)
The Town Council refuses this application. There is a possible confusion of the externally illuminated signs with the adjacent traffic lights as detailed by the highways authority. Taking account of EDDC policies and Town Council guidance, nonilluminated signs would be preferable at this location / Mr G Symonds / The Globe, 165 High Street, Honiton EX14 1LQ
2 illuminated and 1 nonilluminated fascia signs

The Town Council would recommend approval of this application

Removal of pole barn. Erection of poly tunnel
09/0396/COU
The Town Council would recommend approval of this application. However, in view of the potential increase in fast moving traffic which would be attracted to this site, we would ask for consideration to be given to safety measures (including pedestrian) at the busy junction of Heathpark Way and Devonshire Way / Claybrook Developments SW Ltd / Honiton Trade Park, Reme Drive, Heathpark Industrial Estate, Honiton EX14 1SE
Change of use from part Class A1 country store retail and part B1/B8 trade conter to Class A1 retail for the sale of nonfood bulky goods including furniture and carpets, DIY products, cycle products and vehicle accessories, garden and homewares
09/0406/COU
The Town Council would recommend refusal of this application due to
·  Privacy/overbearing
·  Loss of amenity space
·  Visual impact / Mr James Farmer / 10 Millhead Road, Honiton EX14 1QY
Change of use for adoption of amenity land to domestic use and erection of part 2 storey, part single storey extension (amendment to planning permission ref 06/2740/FUL)
