TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ADMISSION TO THE PREPARATORY SCHOOL AND PREMED COLLEGE COURSES AT THE CENTRE FOR FOREIGN LANGUAGES AT THE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF WARSAW

1.  The Closing Enrolment Day for the Preparatory School and Premed College courses (hereinafter called Courses) organized by the Centre for Foreign Languages (hereinafter called Centre) is the 1st of September each year; the application deadline may be extended at the discretion of the Head of the Centre for Foreign Languages. TheCourses begin in October and continue until May (2nd year of the Premed College course) or June (1st year of the Premed College course, and Preparatory School course).

2.  Candidates can enroll in the Courses via email through the Office of the Centre for Foreign Languages at the Medical University of Warsaw.

3.  Courses are open to any non-Polish citizen or Polish citizen who holds a citizenship of acountry other than Poland.

4.  The Premed College course prepares candidates for entrance examinations to programs in English at all medical universities in Poland, and the Preparatory School course has been designed for candidates to all other university programs available in English. Completing the Courses does not guarantee admission to a university, the Medical University of Warsaw included.

5.  The candidate for each Course is obliged to submit:

1)  an application form (both in a Word file and in PDF);

2)  a copy of the candidate’s passport;

3)  a confirmation of the down payment for the course (EUR 500, non-refundable), which constitutes part of the total Course fee;

4)  a filled-in letter of acceptance (it will be signed once the candidate has been enrolled for the course);

5)  for those candidates who would like to start from the 2nd year of the Premed College course and hold an IELTS certificate with the minimum score of 6.0 or a TOEFL certificate with the minimum score of 90 – a copy of the certificate.

6.  On receiving the above-listed application documents and the bank transfer of the down payment, the Centre sends the candidate a Conditional Letter of Acceptance to the Course by e-mail. The (unconditional) Letter of Acceptance, which is usually of help in visa procedures, can only be issued once the full fee for the Course has been transferred to the University account. Other than issuing the above documents, the Centre does not offer any assistance in obtaining student visas.

7.  The candidate must pay the remaining part of the Course fee no later than one day before the commencement of the Course.

8.  All payments should be made via bank transfer to the account number indicated by the Centre for Foreign Languages at the Medical University of Warsaw. The Centre does not accept any payments in cash. All banking charges shall be borne by the candidate.

9.  The candidate can apply for an installment plan, which increases the total fee for the course by 10%. All decisions related to dividing the course fee into installments are made by the Head of the Centre for Foreign Languages.

10.  The Course fee (minus the down payment and administrative costs) shall be reimbursed if the candidate has been refused a Polish visa despite having fulfilled all the conditions necessary to obtain it, and if the refusal is not based on the candidate’s failure to prove their intention to take up and complete the Course. In this case, the candidate should submit, via e-mail, a copy of the written refusal of the relevant Embassy of the Republic of Poland;

11.  The Course fee shall be reimbursed to the account number indicated by the candidate in an appropriate petition.

12.  In case of the participant’s earlier departure, no part of the Course fee shall be reimbursed.

13.  The course fee does not cover accommodation expenses, and the Centre does not provide or arrange accommodation for course participants.

14.  The maximum numbers of Course participants are as follows:

Premed College 1st year 60 course participants

Premed College 2nd year 40 course participants

The Head of the Centre for Foreign Languages at the Medical University of Warsaw reserves the right to modify the number of course participants on a given year of the Course.

15.  The Centre has the right to allocate 10 percent of the profits for promotional activities and admission process.

16.  The Head of the Centre for Foreign Languages at the Medical University of Warsaw shall determine the criteria of selection of course books and the choice of the publishing houses with whom the Chancellor of the Medical University of Warsaw shall sign the course books purchase agreement.

17.  All issues not regulated in this document will be resolved by the Head of the Centre for Foreign Languages at the Medical University of Warsaw.
