Purpose: To dissect, identify and label organs of the cheek and buccal cavity of the fetal pig.

Procedure

  1. Each team will work independently of other teams. Please do not confer with members of other teams during the period.
  2. Each team will dissect and label the parts that are explained in the fetal pig dissection handout and listed in order in the instructions below.
  3. Identification of organs will be done by labeling and having the list of identified organs checked off by the instructor.
  4. Cut labels which measure 3cm x 1 cm. Write the name of the organs in ink and number as in the instructions below. Pass pin into the corner of the tag and push to the head of the pin. Then pass into the organ it is identifying.
  5. When each team has completed the identifications for each lettered section, have the instructor check them off on this check off sheet.
  6. When you have completed the lettered sections below, hand in the team check off sheet.
