ACTION: Discussion regarding the letter from ADA president to Dr. Matt Holder. Initially sounds good but ADA is not taking any action at this time to move forward with MUP agenda. Dr. Holder mentioned that a new approach will be to ask ADA to embrace “End R Word” Champaign first and then move forward with MUP agenda once we have more of their support. Dr. Lynn Taiclet (Pittsburgh) mentioned that the MUP agenda affects dental because Medicaid is involved and patients are losing dental coverage.

Abrahiem Caroci mentioned that one way to get more publicity for AADMD and to bring more awareness to our efforts to advance the MUP agenda is to sponsor awards at the ADA and ASDA annual session meetings. Awards will go to individuals with outstanding contribution and dedication to patients with special needs. Abra will get Dr. Holder contact information for ADA and ASDA.
