Dear Patient,

Patient Participation Group Meetings

In recent years we have managed to canvass opinion from surveys, NHS comment and of course your very helpful contributions via an email ‘virtual patient group’. Whilst email is quick and relatively easy, nothing really replaces a meeting at the surgery where everyone is able to contribute at the same time, discuss ideas and hopefully help us find solutions to problems we never knew we had!

With that in mind, we’d like your opinion on holding some face-to-face patient group meetings. We are thinking of having these two or three times a year and would welcome your thoughts on this, particularly with regard to the best day of the week/time to hold them. Please reply to this email with your suggestions putting PPG MEETING in the subject box; you may get an automatic message telling you the email will not be seen immediately but we do check the mail box daily.

Care Quality Commission

All GP practices are registered with, and regulated by, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) which undertakes planned inspections on a regular basis; and practices in the London Borough of Barnet are currently undergoing these reviews, which will continue for a few months.

As part of the review, the CQC inspectors like to meet with patient group representatives and get your views on the service and care the practice provides. Unfortunately we only get around two weeks’ notice of our inspection date. However if you would be interested and willing to meet with the inspectors please email putting CQC MEETING in the subject box.

We will then contact you as soon as we know the date of our inspection to see if you are still willing and available to meet with the inspectors.

Thank you for your support.

Yours sincerely,

Dr Michael Cavendish
