Position in the organisation

The Philanthropy Team sits within the Partnerships & Philanthropy Division, alongside the Corporate and Foundation Partnerships Teams. The team is responsible for building long term relationships with high level philanthropists and their families to support Unicef’s work.

Purpose of Post

The Senior Proposal Writer will support the delivery of high level philanthropy within the team with a particular focus on high level proposal development at the £1M+ level. The post holder will work alongside the Head of Philanthropy and Principal Gift Leads to develop exceptional high level written documentation in the form of project proposals, concept notes, programme updates and impact reports using knowledge and insight of donor motivations to create bespoke content.

Responsibilities

Lead on the development of quality written documentation to inspire and motivate high level philanthropists to support Unicef’s work for children at the £1m+ level.

Develop technical field materials into donor friendly resourcessuch as detailed programmatic proposals; includes analysing, summarisingand disseminatingthematic reports, official statistics,and any otherUnicef international materials and/or official briefing packages as appropriate.

Lead on the synthesis of material from a range of sources to produce brand consistent and audience specific written documentation. Submit drafts for review, signoff and record in appropriate location for future reference.

Develop a close working relationship with the International Programme Engagement Team, within the Communications Department, which constitutes the hub of technical expertise on Unicefprogrammatic areas and provides a bridge between UUK and global Unicef colleagues; in order to work closely with country offices to source information to craft details proposals and reporting.

Lead on creating and project managing the reporting schedules for all £1m+ prospects and donors in the Philanthropy pipelines, ensuring timely and high quality reporting as part of the teams world class stewardship offerings.

Build and develop capacity of internal staff in conceptualising and writing winning proposal

content across Partnerships & Philanthropy Teams.

Contribute to the ongoing development of best practices and streamlining of processes and tools to effectively manage donor /prospect related workflow.

Take forward specialist projects as requested by the Head of Philanthropy in line with organisational priorities

Provideon callcoverin case of international emergenciesif necessary.

Relevant Experience
