Mein Kampf
A Warning That Went Unnoticed
The Twin Evils: Communism and Judaisim
1. “In the years 1913 and 1914 I expressed my opinion for the first time in various circles..that the problem of how the future of the German nation can be secured is the problem of how Marxism (Communism) can be exterminated.”
2. “Marxism is a Jewish strategy to subjugate Germany and the world.”
3. “Hence it is that at the present time the Jew is the great agitator for the complete destruction of Germany. Whenever we read of attacks against Germany taking place in any part of the world the Jew is always the instigator. In peace-time, as well as during the War, the Jewish-Marxist stock-exchange Press systematically stirred up hatred against Germany.”
4. “The personification of the devil as the symbol of all evil assumes the living shape of the Jew.”
5. “I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.”
Questions:
1. How does Hitler perceive Communism? What does he say is its purpose? How does he describe the Jewish perception of Germany?
2. What is Hitler saying in quote 5? Are you surprised that he would say this?
The Fuhrer Principle
1. “For there is one thing we must never forget… the majority can never replace the man.”
2. “The Nazi party should not become a servant of public opinion, but must dominate it. It must not become a servant of the masses, but their master!”
3. “There must be no majority decisions, but only responsible persons. Surely every man will have advisers by his side, but the decision will be made by one man.”
Question:
1. Based on the above statements how do you think Hitler views democracy? What other German leader does this philosophy sound similar to?
Lebensraum
1. “When we think of new territories we must think of Russia, destiny itself points the way there.”
2. “For it is not in colonial acquisitions (Colonies in Africa) that we must see the solution to the land problem, but exclusively in the acquisition of new eastern territory (Poland, Russia) for settlement, which will enhance the area of the mother country.”
Question:
1. How are the above statements not just a warning for Poland and Russia, but a warning to all the nations of Europe?
