Students analyze the sales process and financial management principles. Materials needed:

One folder or binder (a section in a binder will work as well)

Cell Phones:

Cell phones are not allowed to be used in the classroom as we are in a computer lab. If a student has a phone out they will be asked to put it away. If that student does not put it away the teacher will take that phone up and turn it into the front office. In case of an emergency please direct all calls for your child to the front office.

Tutoring

AFTER SCHOOL Monday-Thursday unless otherwise stated.

Before school tutoring is only available if arrangements are made prior to the day requesting.

Grading:

Tests and Projects: 50%

Daily Grades and quizzes: 50%

Late work:

All work must be turned in on time. 10 points will be deducted for each day an assignment is late up to 3 days. Assignments more than 3 days late will be accepted at the teacher’s discretion for a maximum grade of a 50.

On a RARE occasion, due to extraordinary circumstances, an appeal may be made and an exception granted at the teacher’s discretion.

Late days are defined as instructional days only. For example if an assignment is due on Thursday and a student turns the assignment in on Monday, the assignment will be considered 2 days late.

Academic Dishonesty:

This is a ZERO tolerance policy for cheating and/or plagiarizing in this class and on this campus. Plagiarism is using thoughts, resources or materials that are not originally yours without proper documentation. In this class I encourage you to use outside sources in papers and to examine others’ opinions. However, doing so without giving credit who those thoughts and opinions belong to is stealing and will not be tolerated. Plagiarism on a paper, whether intentional or not, will result in a zero on the assignment with nochance for a redo. You will also forfeit your chances at receiving extra credit points in this class. This same consequence applies to any and all other forms of cheating on other class assignments.

Re-Testing

Teachers will use professional discretion when determining the need for re-testing for individual students. For students who do not make 70 or higher on a major test, the teacher may re-teach either within the regular classroom setting or by individual arrangement. When a major test is administered, an alternate form of the test will be used for retesting. If allowed to retest, the student will receive the higher of the two grades, but not to exceed a grade of 70. Only one retesting will be allowed per incident. Certain courses such as AP, Pre-AP, and Dual Credit may choose to not allow a retesting option.

A retest will be given by a teacher if 50% or more of a class fails to achieve mastery on a test/major grade. The retest will be given only after re-teaching has taken place and retest will occur during the class period. The higher of the two grades will be used.

Teachers have the option of not allowing retesting for any student who:

1. fails to complete and submit class work or homework assignments;

2. fails to participate in class activities designed to prepare the students for the test;

3. creates a disturbance during re-teaching or retesting;

4. habitually fails major tests on the first try and fails to take advantage of re-

teaching or tutorial opportunities; and/or

5. fails to appear for a scheduled retest.

By nature, nine-week and semester exams are a type of retesting, in that they are cumulative. Therefore, there will be no retesting for such examinations.
