Salary / SJC Scale 32-37(£27,828 - £31,689) + 3% Pension
Hours / 37 Hours per week
Purpose /
  1. To lead and manage our Glasgow staff team.
  2. To manage our Glasgow operations.
  3. To ensure the successful delivery of all Glasgow projects.
  4. To develop and grow our business activities, and
  5. To exploit new funding and social enterprise opportunities.

Job overview / You will lead and manage all aspects of our Glasgow operations and ensure that specific support functions and roles (e.g. substance expertise, volunteers, outreach, outdoor activities, programme development, learning/vocational outcomes, monitoring & evaluation, etc.) are appropriately delegated and managed throughout the team. As part of this task, you will ensure that a culture of flexible working exists to ensure that the full range of functions and roles can be delivered and is unaffected by changes in staff availability (i.e. during holidays, periods of sick leave, etc.). You will have primary responsibility for managing a network of effective partnership relationships and for moving the Glasgow Operations towards a fully sustainable business footing as part of the exit from Lottery funding.
PERSON SPECIFICATION–Project Manager
Area / Essential / Desirable
Experience /
  • Minimum 2 years working at a strategic leveland supervising others
  • Track record of successful business development including writing and presenting bids and securing funds
  • Experience of project management and delivering income generation activities to target
  • Experience working with young people in the outdoors
  • Experience of monitoring and evaluation processes
/
  • Two or more years of working with young people in outdoor settings
  • Experience working with groups of young people in a residential setting
  • Experience of finding and supporting young people to take on employment, training, education or volunteer placements

Qualifications /
  • Educated to degree Level
  • Full driving licensewith D1E (minibus & trailer) entitlement
/
  • Educated to degree level in management
  • NGB qualifications, e.g. Mountain Leader Summer (MLS); Single Pitch Award (SPA); Climbing Wall Award; UKCC Level 2 canoe and kayak coach
