MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING & AMENITIES COMMITTEE OF SEATON TOWN COUNCIL, held on Monday 16th December at 7pm, in the Enterprise Suite, Town Hall, Seaton.

Present: Cllr. Meakin (chairman); Cllr. Palacio; Cllr. Christmas; Cllr. Sedgwick; Cllr. Beer; Cllr. Burrows.

552) Public Discussion – to allow any questions or reports by members of the public or other members of the Town Council, on any matters relating to the agenda of this meeting. The period of time designated for public participation shall not exceed 15 minutes; (standing order 1e). Per participant, 3 minutes (standing order 1f)

553) Apologies for absence – Cllr. Bruce, work commitments.

554) Declarations of Interest: In accordance with the Code of Conduct, members are invited to declare any personal or disclosable pecuniary interests, including the nature and extent of such interests they may have, in items to be considered at this meeting. Cllr. Burrows agenda item 556 (b).

555) Minutes – To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 9th December 2013 these having previously been circulated to all councillors prior to this meeting, as a true record.

The minutes of the meeting of 9th December were approved and signed by the Chairman as a true record.

556) Planning Applications

a)  13/2603/COU Proposed change of use of first and second floors from residential to funeral services. Bayview, Trevelyan Road, Seaton

No Objection. Proposed by Cllr. Meakin; seconded by Cllr. Christmas.

b)  13/2419/ADV Proposed retrospective application for post mounted double aspect sign. Lyme Bay Storage Ltd Fosseway Park, Harepath Rd., Seaton.

Objection. Proposed by Cllr. Meakin; seconded by Cllr. Christmas. 3 in favour, 2 against, 1 abstention. Motion carried.

c)  13/2307/LBC Proposed retention of uPVC windows and doors to basement flat and rear entrance door to main building. 7 Westcliffe Terrace, Seaton.

Objection. Proposed by Cllr. Meakin; seconded by Cllr. Woodman. All in favour by show of hands. This is a listed building. Previous applications to replace existing windows and doors with uPVC in this terrace have been refused. Council have no option but to object to this proposal.

d)  13/2680/FUL Proposed single storey rear extension. 22 Scalwell Lane, Seaton.

No objection.
