Distance Team Contract

Obligations

1.  Be on time for practice and attendance.

2.  Participate in all mandatory practices. Saturday practices are mandatory for all non Frosh athletes. Frosh athletes are still encouraged to attend Saturday practices.

3.  DO NOT make excuses. Do your BEST each and every day.

4.  STAY patient. Fast times/improvements do not happen in one day, one week, one month or even in one year. It's a long process. Be confident but stay humble!!!

5.  Must maintain a 2.0 grade pointwithout “F’s” in any classes.

6.  Log daily on XC Stats by 9 pm.

7.  Be positive toward the program and your teammates at all times. TEAM/PROGRAM FIRST and not yourself. No one individual is more important than the team no matter how fast you are. No one team is more important than the program.

8.  Must maintain a 2.0 grade pointwithout “F’s” in any classes.

9.  Complete all runs/workouts including all drills to the best of your abilities.

10.  You are only allowed 1 unexcused absence per season. All excused absence will have to be submitted in WRITING and APPROVED.

11.  Bring a recovery drink daily (if any student has a financial hardship with bringing a recovery drink, please speak with coach. The cost is less than $10 a month).

12.  DO NOT be a "bad apple" and infect all the other apples. Meaning, if you don't want to practice, don't put pressure on others not practice. THIS IS CANCER!!

13.  It is the job of all the experienced ET track and field athletes to help “mentor” (assist and teach) all newer teammates to become more comfortable with the El Toro program. Leave something to the younger runners, not just how fast you ran but good set of examples that you could be proud of 40 years from now.

14.  Obey city/team curfew laws.

15.  Dress out in proper running attire and shoes.

16.  Follow all traffic rules and ONLY run on courses designated by coach.

17.  Dual meets are mandatory as long as you are in school. If you are not well enough to participate, help coaches by taking splits or other duties.

18.  DO NOT ask your parents to make excuses for you. Take responsibility for your own actions. Be honest and come to coach for any issues you are having.

Consequences

1.  Dismissals from practice until obligations are met.

2.  Note or telephone home to parents informing them of rule violations.

3.  Ability to participate in 1 or more Invitationals.

4.  Dismissal from the team for serious infractions or repeated failure to follow rules.
