Introducing… 2017
Call for Proposals
Venue: Foyle Studio, mac Birmingham
Date: Friday 3th November 2017
It’s back! West Midlands dancers, makers and choreographers are invited to submit proposals for short pieces of work (5-15 mins) to be presented at this regional platform for new work, or work in development.
November's Introducing… will be the fifth platform for new work curated by Birmingham Dance Network. Introducing… is the only dance platform in the West Midlands specifically designed for regional artists to test out new work on audiences who then offer direct feedback on the night. We will accept applications from outside the region, but priority is given to regional artists.
BDN is interested in submissions from all corners of the dance world (South East Asian/ hip-hop/ improv/ classical/ theatrical/ experimental/ street/ ballroom etc), as long as you’re interested in exploring a new idea that needs an audience (and are being creative with your form) then we want to hear from you. For the first time we are seeking submissions that would use the foyer area of mac Birmingham as well as work designed for a black box theatre.
Artists will receive a small fee (dependent on funding), video footage of your work and direct written feedback from the audience. It will also give you the opportunity to make links within the industry and get your work seen by potential future partners.
Deadline for submission of the application form is 9AM Thursday 14th September 2017
