IDENTIFICATION OF ITEM(S) TO CHANGE

Add an additional lineof business in the Property/Casualty Exhibit of Premiums and Losses (Statutory Page 14) andInsurance Expense Exhibit, Parts II and III of the NAIC Annual Statement Blank, and the corresponding instructions.Label the new line as “Line 2.4Private crop” for writers of the private market coverages.

REASON, JUSTIFICATION FOR AND/OR BENEFIT OF CHANGE**

Currently, the Multiple Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) line of business is separated out (existing Line 2.2) from Allied Lines and is intended only to be used for business reinsured by the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC). Any crop insurance not federally reinsured by the FCIC is to be filed in Allied Lines (Line 2.1).

The Working Group would like to suggest that another line be added, titled “Private crop”, to further capture the entire spectrum ofcrop data. Having private crop data will also aid state regulators in the event of drought, flood, or catastrophe when evaluating crop losses.

A mock-up of the updated state page and state page instructions has been attached for reference.
