Councillor's "VISION" for the Semester:

“To create a more approachable, united SA which is very prominent within the university community”

A review of the semester:

  • Continued Allocation and monitoring of the SA grant.
  • Worked closely with the SA Staff on Student Association matters.
  • Conducted sessions with the newly elected SA Officers.
  • Held weekly meetings (or discussions) when availability was in place once the semester commenced.
  • Meet the Execs was continued and we addressed matters like elections and welfare concerns on a one on one basis.
  • Meetings with the provost and the management team was done on a regular basis.
  • Re-allocation of bus costs meaning that all bus costs are now to be transferred to Campus Services.
  • Facilitated the Outdoor Gym project.
  • Meet the Executives was continued and was well utilized into the Election period where people’s queries were well addressed.
  • Let’s Talk episode with Christine Ennew as a look-back of her time here in UNMC.
  • Supported the Nottingham Foodgasm Festival and Nottingham Carnival 2016.
  • Continued Tri Campus communication for the SA with the respective SU Presidents.
  • Extended the operating hours of the In-house Medical Clinic to Saturdays through negotiations with management.
  • Launched the SAUNMC Mascot ‘Steve the Tiger’
  • Represented the Student Association at the UEB away day at UoN UK and was joined by the SU president of UK and China. The topic of the presentation was Integration and incorporation between the three campuses.
  • Represented the Student Association at the Open Day of the University on 19th and 20th March 2016.
  • The DAG and Ace Mural Projects have been completed and we have the SDG and World map Art project lined up for next year.
  • Organized the first International Student Summit at UNMC, hosting over 50 students from the Nottingham campuses and also the UK 5 campuses in Malaysia. The event was very successful and was conducted during the 8-12 April 2016.
  • Oversaw the election process and handled the appeals along with Student Council in order to ensure a clean, fair and transparent election was conducted.
  • Maintained the well marketed brand SAUNMC further building on our unique identity.
  • The Nottingham Signage project was done in coordination with Campus services, hoping to add a unique SA touch to it on our 15th SA Anniversary.
  • Negotiated the moving of NottaShop to the previous Bookshop space.
