Independence Excavating a Top Northeast Ohio Heavy Highway Commercial and Construction firm seeks to fill the position of an Environmental Project Manager for completion of high profile projects throughout the country. Position responsible for the management of private and public contracting work associated with environmental compliance, industrial hygiene and safety / OSHA compliance.Position offers full benefits including healthcare. Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and conduct environmental assessments, investigation and remediation activities for environmental compliance
  • Prepare detailed written reports, presentations and presents projects to staff, local enforcement agencies, contractors, and other organizations
  • Completing technical studies
  • Perform and thoroughly document field work activities for environmental and construction projects in using tools and resources of the trade
  • Coordinates with Local, State, and Federal governmental agencies
  • Working daily with Superintendent, Project Managers and Operation’s Managers

Aptitude/Abilities/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field is required
  • At least 5-10 years’ experience working primarily in the environmental compliance, industrial hygiene and safety / OSHA compliance
  • Must have knowledge of storm watercompliance, air quality, hazardous abatement/removal, soil assessments, etc.
  • Must have strong organizational skills in order to handle the variety of tasks assigned
  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally with employees, external vendors, owners, general contractors, and local enforcement agencies
  • Ability to be highly motivated to continue to develop professional licenses, certifications, and expertise through formal training and on–the–job experience
  • Occasional travel required
