DANBY TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING–NOVEMBER 17, 2011
The regular meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. at the Danby Township Hall, 13122 Charlotte Highway. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call Board members present: Supervisor Pohl, Trustee McCormack, Trustee Reisbig, Treasurer Kolarik, Clerk Platte.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting October 27, 2011-

Approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting from October 27, 2011 as presented.
Agenda-Move Township Flag to #2 under Unfinished Business

Unfinished Business:
Proposed Fire Authority Update– Monday November 21, 2011 the six member committee (Supervisor Pohl, Trustee Reisbig, Supervisor Tieman, Trustee Platte, City of Portland Manager Tom Dempsey and Portland City Councilman Steve Fabiano) are meeting to discuss the proposed Fire Authority Agreement that was drawn up by Mike Homier (Portland Township and Danby Township Attorney).
Township Flag – Supervisor Pohl contacted several places to get quotes on a township flag. The only response he got was from Denise Designs. The cost for a one-sided township flag was $190.00 or a double-sided flag for $300.00. Supervisor Pohl also thought the township needed a new inside flag kit for inside the township hall. The cost for a new inside flag kit and stand was $148.88.

Authorize Supervisor Pohl to purchase an inside flag kit for the township hall at a cost of $148.88 and have Denise Designs make a single-sided Township Flag for $190.00.
New Business:
Assistant Cemetery Sexton Position –John VanHouten will be done working as the assistant cemetery sexton effective January 1, 2012.

Authorize Clerk Platte to place an ad for the assistant cemetery sexton position in the Portland R&O for two weeks.
Commission & Committee Reports:
Road Issues –December 1, 2011 ICRC will be having transportation asset management meeting to discuss new ways of road maintenance.
Planning Commission Update - The next Planning Commission meeting will be held on January 18, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The Zoning Board of Appeals will be having a meeting on December 1, 2011 to discuss the Miller variance to place two homes on one parcel.
Officer Reports:
Fire Runs – Clerk Platte reported 1 fire run in September and 1 fire run in October which brings the total number of fire runs for 2011 to 10.
Bills –Clerk Platte presented the bills with the additions of: Gannett Newspapers in the amount of $86.68, MTA Conference for Richard Pohl in the amount of $315.00 and Postmaster in the amount of $689.04 for mailing tax bills. Clerk Platte also asked for permission to pay the AT&T and Tri-County bills when they arrived.

Monthly Financial Reports – Treasurer Kolarik gave the treasurer’s report with an account balance of $682,897.70.
Cemetery Business- TheCemetery Society wanted to purchase a bench for the township cemetery with some of their remaining funds. The Cemetery Society will need to meet with Ron McDaniels (cemetery sexton) to see where the bench can be placed.
