Accounts Payable Coordinator

MCD Corporate Services, a division of Medical Care Development (MCD), Inc., a not-for-profit health services organization, is seeking an individual to function as an Accounts Payable Coordinator. This position is located in Augusta and is available immediately. We are searching for an energetic and detail-oriented candidate who is willing to show initiative and has a conscientious work style, who is flexible with work assignments and willing to take on new roles depending on the immediate needs of the organization.

Duties:The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for the full accounts payable cycle for MCD’s Corporate Services, International, and Public Health divisions.

Essential Functions:

  • Process invoices including verifying approval, coding and accuracy
  • Collect W-9 and W-8BEN forms for new vendors and create and maintain vendor files.
  • Research and resolve A/P issues with vendors and customers
  • Plan and process regular check runs
  • Process employee expense reports
  • Prepare manual checks as needed
  • Initiate and process domestic and international wire transfers and ACH transactions
  • Prepare schedules for accounting close as needed
  • Assist in tax reporting requirements including W-9s and 1099
  • Establish and maintain the accounting office filling, assist with day to day information request and other duties and projects as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned including: bank deposits, cash posting, preparing standard journal entries, reconciling AP related accounts.

The Accounts Payable Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning and Controls, but will be responsible for assisting other finance team members and MCD staff as necessary. This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, non-exempt position that is eligible for MCD’s benefit package.

Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate’s Degree in accounting. Bachelor’s degree in financial related field is preferred; however, equivalent related work experience (minimum of 3 years) may be considered, preferably with a non-profit organization. 1 to 3 years of experience in accounts payable is required. Excellent data entry skills, strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills are essential. Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills are a must. Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure is required. Must have effective organizational and time management skills. Detailed knowledge of all current Microsoft Office software programs as well as experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge financial management software to perform the work is essential.
