Tickets will be sold on site the day of the event only. The ticket gate will open about one (1) hour prior to the first competition.

IMPORTANT NOTE: No checks will be accepted for the admission cost. Please communicate this with your fans.

Tournament Information:

  1. The tournament is a double elimination format with four(4) teams advancing to the WIAA State Tournament in the Yakima SunDome, Friday and Saturday November 13 and 14, 2009.
  2. See the posted Tri-District Bracket for specific dates, times, and pairings.

Roster Submission/T-Shirts:

  1. Your official Tri-District roster containing the first and last names of a maximum of 14 players must be submitted as an online WIAA State Program submission by Friday, October 31. Late changes in your roster must be made in writing to Jill Hoogerhyde, Assistant Tournament Director, by 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 5, 2009(). Only these 14 players will be eligible to play in the Tri-District 2B Volleyball Tournament. See WIAA guidelines for roster submission.
  2. The Tri-District program information will also be taken directly off of the WIAAState roster submission website. The state roster submission will be due (for Tri-District purposes) by Friday, October 30. Please submit pictures with your State roster as well so they can be put in the Tri-District program.
  3. The T-shirt names will be taken directly from the above State roster, so please type them correctly. If you wish managers or coaches to be included on the T-shirt, please email those additional submissions directly to Jill Hoogerhyde, otherwise just players listed on your State roster will be included on the Tri-District T-shirts.

Pass List Instructions/Complimentary Admissions: The attached pass list (gate list) will be used to admit school personnel and team members per criteria listed below:

  1. In addition to the superintendent, school board members, principal, and athletic director, each participating school will be permitted two (2) names on the pass list for faculty personnel assigned to supervision duties.
  2. Schools will be permitted one school photographer/video camera operator to be on the passlist.
  3. Each school will be allowed two (2) discretionary passes.
  4. Cheerleaders must be in full uniform for complimentary admission.
  5. District 1, 2, & 3 Lifetime and WIAALifetimePasses are valid.
  6. The tournament manager will use a gate list for each participating school’s team members, coaches, and managers. The number to be admitted will be consistent with the WIAA regulations for state competition – 14 team members and 4 coaches/bench personnel.
  7. The gate list must be submitted to the Assistant Tournament Director, Jill Hoogerhyde, by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009.

Pass Outs: Pass outs are permitted during the tournament. A hand stamp will be required to return tothe tournament. This will allow fans to visit the restaurants that are within walking distance of the school.

Press Admission: Members of the working press and press photographers who wish to cover the tournament will be admitted free. Members of the press wishing to cover the tournament should be prepared to provide appropriate identification upon arrival at the tournament site.

TOURNAMENT POLICIES

Warm-Up: Before all matches 1 – 4, warm-up will be 5 minutes shared, 5 for the home team, 5 for the away team, and 2 minutes of serving. For matches 5 – 12, warm-up will be 5minutes for the home team, 5 minutes for the away team, and 2 minutes of serving.

Supervision: Participating schools are responsible for the supervision of their students. The Tournament Manager has the authority to stop a contest as a result of unacceptable crowd behavior after conferring with the event committee and the school representatives present. The contest may continue once the manager has reasonable assurance that the disruptive behavior is under control.

Cheerleaders: Cheerleaders must comply with the National Federation safety standards.

Bands: No bands will be admitted to this tournament.

Seating: Competition will take place on two courts in the main gymnasium. Limited chair seating isavailable on the end lines of the west court. Bleacher seating will be available on the east end of gymnasium only.

Game and Gymnasium Regulations:

1.Signs and Confetti, Decorations, Noisemakers, and Laser Pointing Devices.

  1. Signs other than the school banner are prohibited from display.
  2. Throwing objects or scattering paper in the stands or on the court and the general school area is prohibited. Any school violating this policy may be assessed a fine for the cost of the cleaning.
  3. Power air horns and other synthetic noisemakers are strictly prohibited, as are laser pointing devices. Such devices will be impounded and returned to the owner after the tournament. Band instruments are not to be used as noisemakers. Megaphones may be used by cheerleaders only.
  1. All announcements made over the public address system must refer directly to the tournament in progress. No other announcements will be permitted unless first cleared by the Tournament Manager.
  2. Programs will be made available for this tournament.
  3. Use of tobacco products, alcohol or illegal drugs on school premises is prohibited and will subject the offender to potential arrest.

Officials: The Northwest District One Secretary will assign officials, including linespersons, from the SnohomishCounty and Northwest District Volleyball Boards

Additional Information:

  1. The tournament director can make court and match time changes at any time so it is expected that all teams stay on site during the duration of the tournament. Please make preparations for meals accordingly.
  2. A games committee shall be designated for each contest to resolve issues that relate to protests, appeals, or other game-related circumstances. The committee shall consist of no fewer than three people, of whom the tournament manager, the head referee, and an available coach not involved in the protest are members.
  3. Once the tournament begins, the committee shall rule on any issues related to the conduct of the tournament.
  4. The decisions of the games committee shall be final.
  1. All matches are best of 5 games, per State tournament guidelines.
  2. Any and all medical personnel on site during the tournament shall be the responsibility of the participating schools. A school is not required to provide medical personnel, but if it does, that individual shall be afforded the responsibility as outlined in WIAA Rule 22.1.0.

5.Awards: A trophy will be awarded to the first place team.

6.T-Shirts: T-shirts will be available for sale at the tournament site. T-shirt names will be taken

directly from the roster submissions mentioned on page 1.

Miscellaneous Tournament Practices:

  1. Solicitations by school or non-school organizations will not be allowed.
  2. Participating schools will provide their own towels.
  3. Game balls: At the tournament site, the Baden VX5E Perfection Elite will be used. Only white balls are allowed for all matches.
  4. Each team is to provide two scorekeepers – one for the score sheet and one to track the libero substitutions. If a team does not utilize the libero position, they do not have to provide a libero tracker. The scorekeeper for the home team of each match (bottom of bracket) will serve as the official scorebook.

Finances:

1.All member districts that participate in the Tri-District shall share in the profit or loss of the event, based on one share for each school involved in the event. The distribution of the profit or loss shall be in accordance with WIAA District policies.

  1. Income and expenses shall be handled in accordance with Northwest District One finance policy.
  2. Only Board approved expenses will be paid from event income.

  2. At the stop sign (end of the off ramp) turn left onto 220th St. and continue until you reach Highway 99.
  3. Go across Highway 99. Go one block to the stop light at 220th and 76th Avenue West.
  4. Turn right onto 76th and continue to the school.

From I-5 Southbound:

  1. Take the 220th SW Off Ramp (Exit 179)
  2. At the stop sign turn right onto 220th SW and continue until you come to Highway 99.
  3. Go across Highway 99. Go one block to the stop light at 220th and 76th Avenue West.
  4. Turn right onto 76th and continue to the school.
