Business Items:
TRIP specifications update (Page 20) - It was agreed that the following statement should be added to the TRIP specs:
During incidents of severe weather and other emergency situations, including an officially declared state of emergency, TRIP may be activated as a resource to assist GDOT in addressing recovery and clearance needs. In such instances, program requirements relative to meeting response or recovery times may be waived. Incentives may be supplied to responding TRIP service providers following these incidents.
Letter to Parker’s Wrecker– Michael Roberson has a meeting scheduled with Kathy Zahul to secure signatures for the letter declining Janet Parker’s TRIP application. The TRIP managers agreed to meet with Janet Parker following the TRIP AIR meeting.
Contact from Terry’s Towing– Travis Terry asked if his company could be TRIP-certified to serve as backup for Willard. However, Jimmy Willard said he would not work with Terry’s Towing. TRIP managers agreed to inform Travis Terry that he can wait and apply during open enrollment in 2015.
Sosebee’s Wrecker issues: TA 421_04.21.14_(464269)– TRIP managers will meet with Sosebee’s representatives after the TRIP AIR to stress the program requirements that they remain properly equipped / capable to respond to a call on their own (without support from other TRIP companies).
Rhino GDOT paging system update– A meeting was held with Lonnie Blackstone at GDOT to discuss Rhino’s response to TRIP incidents. The determination was made to leave Rhino on the paging system in respect of the company’s contractual obligations. Lonnie Blackstone gave his word that he would work within the parameters of the TRIP program. He was informed that he is to no longer act in a manner that would cause Rhino to be considered a nuisance.
Spur 14 – Notice will be made to HERO personnel to remember that Spur 14 is part of TRIP territory.
Heavy vehicle extrication class – A request was made to consider conducting the next extrication class at the Roswell public safety training facility. But it was determined that a towing location, possibly Marietta Wrecker’s facility, would be more accommodating.
TRIP activation – TRIP activations needs to be made via the TRIP telephone line, not HERO radios.
Next Meeting: 06/05/2014
