Using the Training Modules

Who are the participants?

These training modules are designed to include the family health workers, the school supervisors and focal health points from each island. Participants from both the health and education sector can then work together to design a suitable program as part of their existing School Health program and the FHW’s health education work. The benefits are not just for the school but the whole community.

Who are the facilitators?

Ideally the facilitators are from both MWSA and the Ministry of Educations School Health program with experience in facilitating workshops. Combined the facilitators need to be confidant in water, sanitation and hygiene issues on the island and in the running of the School Health program and Education Ministry administration issues.

How many participants should I include?

To enable the group work it’s recommended that the workshop have a maximum of 20 participants. If you have more than this number it may be worth repeating the workshop consecutively.

At the start of each session it is recommended to review the learning outcomes of the previous session and introduce the new learning objectives.
