Public Notice

The City of Berryville, Arkansas is accepting sealed bids for an additional phase of trail system construction on approximately 400 acres of land south of town atop Pension Mountain. The scope of work will include fine tuning of the routing, clearing of the trail corridors and sustainable side-hill construction of the trail treads. Approximately 1 mile of the new trail will be single-track construction with an overall width of 18 to 24 inches. Approximately 5.5 miles will be developed for motorized ATV’s with an overall width of 48”. Proven experience in the layout and construction of sustainable trails is required.

Qualified bidders must be a licensed contractor in the State of Arkansas and must have a minimum of five years experience in the layout and construction of similar trails. Members of the Professional Trailbuilders Association will be given most favorable consideration. Previous trail projects must be submitted to demonstrate level of trail construction experience. Bidders must also meet requirements contained in the plans and specifications.

Sealed bids must be returned to the Berryville Parks Office at the Community Center no later than 12 p.m. on Tuesday, January 8th; and must be clearly marked “PENSION MOUNTAIN TRAILS – SEALED BID”.

Federal funds are being used in this project and all Federal and State regulations apply. Minority and women owned businesses are encouraged to bid.

Proposals will be considered on the basis of experience, cost, and the bidder’s past performance in completing similar work. The City of Berryville reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, and to accept the proposal deemed to be in the City’s best interest.

The Sponsor hereby notifies all bidders that this contract is subject to applicable labor laws, non-discrimination provisions, wage rate laws and other federal laws including the Fair Labor Standards Acts of 1938. The Work Hours Act of 1962 and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 also apply.
