Middle School Service Plan for Talented and Gifted Students

Guidelines: The following service plan is completed for each course taught by the teacher providing services to identified Talented and Gifted students. A copy of the service plan should be provided to the parent at the beginning of each year school year and for any newly identified or newly enrolled TAG student.

Evidence of individual student rate and level of learning is kept in teacher grade books or working files.

Differentiated instruction to be offered based on student rate and level of learning (check all that apply):

Compacting: Eliminating repetition, minimizing drill, and accelerating instruction in basic skills or lower level so student can move to more challenging material

Acceleration: Faster presentation of content to more closely match speed at which student learns

Independent Study: Self-education, often using self-selected resources and driven by student interest

Extension: In depth, advanced comprehensive work related to a theme or curriculum

Leveling - Student is enrolled a district approved Advanced/AP class or is placed in an above grade level instructional group

As per Oregon Law, parents have the right to offer input into the Talented and Gifted service needs for their own child. If you’d like to provide input into the plan for this course offering, please respond in writing with your thoughts and ideas. Upon request, you may ask for an individualized service plan for your child.
