CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERFACILITIES

Christina and Company Education Center’s facility is over 10,000 square feet with salon quality styling stations, shampoo stations, manicure tables, European pedicure thrones, esthetic beds and machines, plus two makeup areas and a full retail center.Our classrooms are equipped with all of the educational tools you need to succeed. We use computers throughout the school to track student success. Students use the computers to check their daily appointments and to work toward their goals. Computer readiness is important in the salon world of today. There is free on site parking available for students and clients. There are also special facilities for handicapped students. Our school is within easy access to major highways and public transportation.

JOB PLACEMENT (GAINFULEMPLOYMENT)

CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERmaintainscontactsintheCosmetology,Esthetics,and Nail Tech professions toassiststudentsinjobplacement.Employersareencouragedtointerviewstudents,andevery effortismadetosecureajobopportunityforeachgraduate.Studentsarepreparedinthelatterpartoftraining toseekemployment.Jobopportunitiesareannouncedandpostedin the student break room at Christina and Company Education Center. WhileCHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERcannotguaranteeemploymentforgraduates,assistanceinfindingsuitable employmentis provided byposting areajob openings ona career opportunities bulletin board for students toreview. However, CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER does follow-up on graduates to help us prepare new students for future job placement.

Students have found employment at many licensed salons throughout the state of Indiana. Some students have found employment at spas and other skincare offices. Many students have obtained hair stylist, esthetician, and nail tech positions. Students have also been placed in product sales and educator roles at Cosmetology schools.

Student job placements are collected through a variety of sources. Students who graduate with a job offer often will confirm this on their student exit survey. Other students are contacted via phone call or email to verify employment. Employment can also be verified through phone calls to local salons and managers.

SAFETYREQUIREMENTS

Safety suggestions with this profession would include wearing shoes that would not be slipperywhen walkingonadampfloor.Allhairneedstobesweptupfollowingeachhaircuttominimizeaccidents.Allwaterspilledshouldalsobewipedupasquicklyaspossible.Itistheresponsibilityofeachstudentto promote a safe work environment. Gloves should be worn during chemical services to reduce any allergic

reactionthatanindividualmayhavetocertainchemicals.Anyproductthatwouldaccidentallygetinthe eyes should be flushed thoroughly with water. Seek medical attention if irritationcontinues.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS PLACED ON THEBODY

Youmayworklonghours,especiallythosewhoownsalons.Workschedulesmayincludenightsandweekends,andmaynotincludebreaksorlunches.Goodhealthandstaminaareamust.Mostsalonindustryprofessionalsmaybeontheirfeetforlongperiodsoftime.Therearephysicaldemandsplaceduponthebodyduringboth classandasanemployeeintheindustry,includingbutnotlimitedto,standingforlongperiodsoftime, bendingover,lengthytimeallowancesforservices,liftingheavyobjects,dexterity,exposuretoheatand chemicals,possiblecutsresultingfromahaircuttingservice,andprolongedexposuretosomechemicalsmay cause irritation so protective clothing, facemasks, and gloves should beworn.

LICENSINGREQUIREMENTS

Any student shall be qualified to receive a certification of registration to practice as a registered

beauty culturist who:

  • Is at least 18 years of age.
  • Has a high school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Must have obtained 1500 hours of education and graduated within 3 years from the date of enrollment from an approved cosmetology school.This requirement may be waived by the board if the applicant can prove a hardship such as an emergency, documented illness, or military service.
  • Has not been convicted of an act which would constitute grounds for disciplinary sanction or a felony that has a direct bearing on his or her ability to practice competently.
  • Has satisfactorily passed a practical examination (approved by the board) at the approved school of beauty culture.
  • Has satisfactorily passed a written examination at an approved PSI Exams test center to determine fitness to practice beauty culture.
  • Has paid the fee of issuance for a beauty culture license.

TEXTBOOK AND KITPOLICIES

CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER textbook and kit items are available only through suppliers that sell tolicensed professionals: barbering/cosmetology/esthetics/manicuring/massage therapy and teachertraining academies.CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERpayswholesalecostsforthesetextbookandkititemsandthenpassesthose savings along to the student. Kits may not be removed from CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER withoutpermission.

The textbook and kit items are non-refundable. The costs for the textbook and kit items includesshipping and handling. The student is responsible for replacing lost, missing, or broken items. In the event a kititem is defective, CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER will warranty the item for 30 days from the date the student receivedthe item.ThetextbooksandkitsprovidedaretobeusedonCHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERguestsand/ormodelsasassignedinordertodeveloprequiredskillsandspeed.Inordertokeeplearningmaterialscurrent,CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER,fromtimetotime,maychangetextbookandkititems.Thestudentisresponsibleforany additional textbook and kit costs. The replacement kit items can be purchased from theAdmissions Office. Borrowing is not encouraged ortolerated.

TEXTBOOK AND KIT DISBURSEMENTPOLICY

CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERhaspaymentoptionsavailableforthepurchaseoftextbooksandkititems.For thosestudentsusingTitleIVfunds,thechargefortextbooksandkititemscanbeaddedtotheinstitution chargesandfundswillbedisbursedbythepaymentperiod.Thetextbookandkitcostsarepayableinthe first academic year. Students that use the Title IV option are considered to have authorized the use ofTitle IVfundstocoverthecostoftextbooksandkititemsandwillnothavetogiveawrittenauthorizationforthis purposeonly.NOTE:TheStudentusingTitleIVfunds(financialaid)onlyreceivesTitleIVfundsiftheStudent is making satisfactory progress or has been placed on financial aid warning. For those students that are ona cash payment plan, a down payment of $1500 or $3500 for tuition, kit and application fees is paid prior to the firstday of class and the remaining balance is paid as agreed upon prior to signing enrollment agreement.The textbook and kit items arenon-refundable.

Unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material, including unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing, may subject students to civil and criminal liabilities. Penalties for copyright infringement include civil and criminal penalties. In general, anyone found liable for civil copyright infringement may be ordered to pay either actual damages or "statutory" damages affixed at not less than $750 and not more than $30,000 per work infringed. For "willful" infringement, a court may award up to $150,000 per work infringed. A court can, in its discretion, also assess costs and attorneys' fees. Willful copyright infringement can also result in criminal penalties, including imprisonment of up to five years and fines of up to $250,000 per offense. Students who participate in unauthorized peer-to-peer file sharing, illegal downloading or unauthorized distribution of copyrighted materials using the school’s information technology system will be disciplined by termination from the program they are enrolled.

UndertheCrimeAwarenessCampusSecurityActof1990,asamendedbytheJeanneCleryDisclosureof Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), we are required to provide allstudents and faculty with the following safety information about our campus. This Annual Security Report hasalso beenupdatedtoreflectrecentchangesincrimereporting,policiesandproceduresrequiredbytheViolence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013 (VAWA) effective July 1,2015.

CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERiscommittedtoprovidingsafetytoallofitsstudents,faculty,andstaff.Ifa crimehappenstothestudentorthestudent’spropertyorifthereisanemergencyoccurringoncampus, report the incident to a facilitator or owner immediately. That individual will assist the student or guestinreporting the crime to the local police or other appropriate securityforce.

CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER will provide students, faculty, and staff with a copy of this crime reportfrom thepreviouscalendaryearbyOctober1stofthefollowingyear.Statisticswillbegatheredfromthelocal police and compiled in the annualreport.

The report will show the number of incidents on campus, including CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER parking lotand adjacentstreets.Atanytime,statisticscanbeaccessedfromCHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTERAdmissionsOffice.

Although CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER does not employ security Officers, CHRISTINA AND COMPANY EDUCATION CENTER has aworking relationship with the local police who are able to support and provide services promptly in the event ofanincident. We encourage accurate and prompt reporting of all crimes to the localpolice.
