Time: 10am-3:30pm / Do you like to... Explore Nature? Have Fun? Protect Our Parks? This camp will make you a Junior Ranger at North Carolina’s Falls Lake State Park! We will do fun activities with Ranger Sean Higgins. You will also earn a patch when you complete the camp! Location: Sanderling Recreational Area south of Creedmoor. Bring your own lunch, sunscreen, insect repellent, and comfortable shoes. Dress in clothes you do not mind getting dirty. Transportation is not provided to the Falls Lake Sanderling Lake Recreational Area.
Scrap Exchange

/ The Scrap Exchange is out of Durham and will be traveling to the Granville County CES office for a fun-filled workshop! They will supply materials and trained staff for a fun, educational, hands-on creative arts experience. Youth will transform clean, reusable industrial discards into inventions for science, hats and costumes for plays, games and toys for fun, and much more. Hammock’s Beach Camping Trip

Time: leave 1pm Wed & return 5pm on Thurs. / Let’s go primitive camping at Hammock’s Beach State Park! Camping trip includes a kayak tour, program about sea turtles, catching crabs, a boat ride to camp on an island, and evening beach combing. Tent camping with sea breeze for our air conditioning! Meals are included. Bring with you two pair of clothing, pajamas, swim suit/trunks, sunscreen, toiletries, towel, sleeping bag, pillow, watershoes, tennis shoes, and insect repellent. Camp Millionaire

You will be empowered with a new mindset and strategies to make your money work for you so you can be financially secure later in life. Camp Millionaire is a fun activity-based program that features The Money Game. The best time to start is NOW! Held at the Granville CES Center. Snack included.
4-H Summer Camp at the Eastern 4-H Center

Time: 6pm-10pm / Take your family out to the ball game in Durham! The Durham Bulls baseball team will be playing the Charlotte Knights! Meet at the stadium 1 hour before the game begins for a 2 hour long buffet of food (included in your registration cost) and receive an official ball cap! This price is discounted to you thanks to the United Way Grant 4-H receives. We will be sitting in the Carolina Hurricanes Home Run Patio! You will receive your ticket prior to the game. No transportation is provided. We encourage this camp to be one for the whole family to enjoy…baseball, food, and ball cap all included!
Tandem Canoe and Teamwork Camp

Time: 9am-5pm / Learn communication and teamwork skills in a tandem canoe! Our former 4-H agent, Mr. Sean Higgins, will facilitate this program! This program will be best suited for people who have some level of comfort when swimming. Transportation provided.
Livestock Boot Camp

/ Ever wonder what it took to become a champion sheep, goat, cattle or hog showman? Are you planning on showing at the Four County Livestock Show, Vance County Fair, or State Fair Livestock Show? This camp will prepare you for your showmanship class, fitting techniques, proper care of your animal, and how to perfect your project record book. Bring a bagged lunch and something to drink. / Do you know how to solder? Would you like to create a small electronic? This hands-on camp provides you with the necessary materials and instructions to complete the assembly of a small electronic kit from the NC 4-H Electric Program. You will learn about common electronic components that make up the project circuit, how to follow a parts layout, and how to safely use soldering equipment. / This course will cover firearm safety and instruction includes ethics and responsibility, conservation and wildlife management, wildlife identification, survival and first aid, specialty hunting and tree stand safety. All first-time license buyers must first successfully complete a hunter education course. Due to hunter education, hunting accidents have decreased by over 50% during the last twenty years making hunting one of the safest recreational activities. Lunch will be provided. Museum of Natural Sciences Trip!

Through the exhibits, programs and field experiences, they provide visitors with opportunities to get up close and personal with science and nature. Transportation is provided. Be very prompt with arrival to the Granville County CES Center! Bring a bagged lunch. If you bring money for the souvenir shop, it is your responsibility.
WRAL News Station Tour in Raleigh

We will have a 2 hour guided tour followed by lunch in the WRAL station’s gardens. Bring a bagged lunch. Transportation is provided. Must be prompt with arrival to the Granville County CES Center!
Cloverbud Yoga Fun!

Time: 12:30pm-4:30pm / Have you ever tried yoga? At this camp, we will learn breathing techniques, yoga terminology, poses, proper form, games, and relaxation exercises. You will need to bring a yoga/exercise mat, or a beach towel and pillow. They should dress comfortably in appropriate exercise clothing (e.g. recommend more fitted tops for females). Held at the Granville County CES Center. Bring a light snack and drink.
Summer Fun Wrap-Up Party!

Time: 2:30pm-4pm / Let’s celebrate the end to another Summer Fun program! We will have cake, ice cream, finger foods, and drinks. While we are eating and socializing, a slide show of pictures from the summer’s camps will be playing! Must have had 1 family member participate in at least 1 Summer Fun camp to attend. Parents are encouraged to attend so you can see the pictures! Held at the Granville County CES Center.

- 4-H Enrollment Form and Photo Release for 2013
- Medical Release Form for 2013
- Summer Fun Registration Form
- Full payment for Summer Fun
Please keep track of which camps your child has signed up for. If he/she cannot make the camp, please let Jessica or Gwen know at least 24 hours in advance before the camp occurs. We have waiting lists and would like to offer that space to another child. You may receive an email/phone call 1-3 days before the camp as a confirmation from Granville County 4-H. Do not rely on this as a reminder.
The start and end times for these events are to be strictly enforced. Please do not drop off your child more than 15 minutes prior to the camp starting and pick them up no more than 15 minutes past the end time.
If you need to make payments on a camp, please let Gwen know at time of registration. Payments will be due in full 1 week before camp occurs. If payment is not collected, your child’s spot will be filled with someone on the waiting list. If you would like to apply for a 4-H camp scholarship, please ask Gwen for a form at registration. These are limited and go to those in highest need.
Due to NC law, 4-H staff are not allowed to apply or supply sunscreen or insect repellent to your child. If the camp is taking place outside, please be sure to supply your child sunscreen/insect repellent and teach him/her to properly apply it.
Also due to NC law, 4-H staff are not allowed to supply or install car seats. If a car seat is needed, please provide one and place in the 4-H van. Your child’s safety is very important to us!
Granville County Cooperative Extension and 4-H are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Jessica will keep a lost and found box if something is left behind. Call or email her to pick it up.
