Guidelines
PURPOSE
The Caryn Hobson Pierce Memorial Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to Springdale seniors who exhibit financial need, demonstrate the ability and motivation to complete the post-secondary course of study, and show evidence of willingness to help with expenses while earning a degree.
ELIGIBILITY
Qualified applicants must be:
· a graduating senior from Springdale or Har-Ber High School,
· enrolled in a four-year college or two-year community college with plans to continue at a four-year college, and
· a former student of Mrs. Pierce for at least one year.
CRITERIA
The criteria for selection of the scholarship recipient is determined by the selection committee, and may include, but not limited to , demonstrated financial need, demonstrated leadership in school, community involvement and character.
AMOUNT OF SCHOLARSHIP
One-time scholarships of $1000.00 will be awarded to one graduating senior at Springdale High School and one graduating senior at Har-Ber High School.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
1. Completed applications and required paperwork are due to your counselor on/before [March 15, 2014]. Current high school transcript must be provided.
2. Applicants may be interviewed by the selection committee.
3. We will notify your counselor of our decision no later than April 30, 2014.
