ORDINANCE REMINDERS

Keeping Ditches Clean:

Please do not place grass clippings, leaves, or other debris in side ditches. It is mandated by the Clean Water Act that our storm water system must be kept clear of debris. This rule is enforced under the Glen Alpine Storm Water Ordinance.

MOWING GRASS:

When mowing grass please do not blow your clippings in the street (if you do, please blow them back on to your property). Blowing grass clippings in the street can create a safety hazard. Doing so is a violation of the towns litter ordinance (Violators subject to civil penalties) Try composting: Grass clippings and leaves make great compost. Save money and help the environment.

SIGN ORDINANCE:

If you have an event or yard sale and put up signs, please remove the signs as soon as the event is over. We do have a sign ordinance.

ANIMAL CONTROL ORDINANCE:

It is unlawful for the owner to allow a dog, cat, or other animal to run-at-large and to allow an animal to continually make noise (bark, etc.) to the point that a reasonable person would consider to be a nuisance.

PROPERTY MAINTENANCE:

Any owner of property located within the Town limits of Glen Alpine occupied or not shall keep the premises maintained and free of overgrown grass, weeds, and or debris.

Complete copies of all Town ordinances may be obtained at townhall or by calling 828-584-2622
