Facility:The meet will be conducted in 2- 10 lane, 25 yard indoor pool withnon-turbulent lane lines. Colorado Electronic Timing, Colorado touch pads andHy-Tek Meet Manager will be used. Sloped starting blocks and backstroketurnflags are in place. Designated warm-up lanes will be available throughoutthemeet. Average water depth at the start end and theturnend is 2 meters. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with104.2.2C (4). Separate dressing rooms, showersandlavatories for men and women areavailable.

Eligibility:Swimmer’s age as of 2/18/2017 shall determine his/her age for the entire meet. Open to all registered USA swimmers. Swimmers may not compete in any event in which they have achieved an B time. No entries will be accepted unless the entrant is a registered athlete member with USA Swimming, Inc. The complete USA Swimming registration number for each individual must be placed on the team entry form. Every club entered as a team in a West Texas Swimming sanctioned meet must be a member of USA Swimming, Inc.

Rules: 2017USA Swimming rules for competitive swimming will govern the meet. In accordance with safety regulations, the pool deck is strictly limited to swimmers, coaches, officials, and meet personnel only. Parents and other spectators must remain in the spectator area in the stands above the pool.

Racing Start Proficiency: Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start each race from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer’s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.

Recording Devices:Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms or locker rooms.

Deck Changing: Except where venue facilities require otherwise, changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited.

Meet Operations: Flyover starts will be used at the discretion of the meet referee.

Entries:Limit: Swimmers are limited to 5events for this meet.

Deck Entries:Deck entries will be accepted 15 minutes after the start of the first warm up time for session at the Clerk of Course. Deck entries will be accepted for empty lanes only. New heats will not be created for deck entries. Coaches, please notify the Clerk of Course with any scratches.

Entry Times:Entry times must be submitted in 100ths of seconds. All entry times must be current times, provable in the USA Swimming, Inc. SWIMS database. Penalty for entering with an unproved time will be removal of the swimmer from that event without refund of entry fee.

Relay Entries: Relay cards and swimmer names must be submitted to the Clerk-of-Course 20minutes into the warm uptime. Deck Entries for relays will only be allowed where space is available. New heats will not be created for relay deck entries.

Entry Fees: Entry fee is $4.75 per individual event, $9.50 per relay. There is a $2.50 athlete surcharge. Late entries and deck entries are $9.50 per individual event, $18.00 per relay. Make checks payable to COM.

Deadlines:All entries must be turned in by Thursday, February 9th. All entries should be submitted on the attached form or on Hy-Tek Team Manager. Teams entering more than 10 must submit their entries via Hy-Tek Team Manager or pay a fine of $50. Please include your complete USS ID # on all entries.

Help from visiting officials is always welcome. Visiting officials are asked to e-mail the Meet Referee with their certification level and availability so he/she can plan accordingly. All officials must attend a mandatory meeting beginning one hour before each session. The uniform for all will be white polo shirt over khaki shorts/pants/skirt, as appropriate.

Timers:Each team participating may be called on to help provide timers.

Concessions:A concession stand will be available. Hospitality will be available for officials, coaches and timers.

Liability and Sanction:

This meet is held under the Sanction of USA Swimming. U.S. Swimming, West Texas Swimming, Inc., City of Midland Aquatics and or its coaches and it’s officials shall be free from any and all liabilities or claims for damages or harm arising by reason of injuries to anyone during the conduct of the meet or while traveling to or from the meet. Damage to a facility, when proved, will cause the offending swimmer, if unattached, or the offending swimmer’s club, if attached, to be held accountable for repairs.

Awards:Medals will be given for individual events 1st-3rd place. Ribbons will be awarded for individual events 4th-8th places. Ribbons will be awarded for relays 1st-8th place.

High Point awards will be for 1st and 2nd place winners in 6 and under, 7-8 (25s and 50s will count for this age group); 9-10 (50s and 100s will count for this age group), 11-12 and 13 & over.

Scoring:Scoring will be based on the following age groups: 6 and Under,7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13 and over.
