Requirements:
  • Buyer shall observe and comply with all requirements of the New Brunswick Occupation Health and Safety Act, Chapter 0-0.2 and General Regulations 91-191 and its associated Regulations. The buyer shall also be familiar with and comply with all the Owners Standards and/or Work Methods, Corporate Safety Manual, any written instructions from the Owner pertaining to Safety and any safety requirements of the NB Department of Public Safety, as well as all relevant Federal and Municipal/Civic Ordinances.
  • Surplus must be picked up within 7 days of notification.
  • Surplus must be paid in full prior to pick-up (unless otherwise instructed by NB Power).
  • Buyer shall be in good standing with NB Power Accounts.
  • Buyer must comply with all site safety requirements
  • Surplus items must be weighed at NB Power scales or NB Power approved scales.
  • All discrepancies must be reported in writing within 72 hrs of surplus pick up. Otherwise we will invoice for the total amount. These can be forwarded to or faxed to Investment Recovery at 458-4000.

Information to be submitted (if applicable) with Tender Submission
  • Provide 2 references (preferably other utilities) that may be contacted.
  • Process on how the material will be handled for disposal; where the different materials will be sold to and processed.
  • NB Salvage Dealers License (one will have to be provided if highest bidder).
  • Proof of Insurance – $2 million for Liability & $3 million for Auto
  • Provide Transportation of Dangerous Goods Cards or Certificates
  • Work PlaceNB Certificate
  • Provide an Approval to Operate Certificate from PNB for theCollection and
Transportation of Used Oil and PCB Contaminated Oil.
Conditions (if applicable)
  • All Items/equipment are sold As Is Where Is with no warranties on items/equipment.
  • All surplus and scrap weights are estimated.
  • NB Power reserves the right to reject any or all bid submissions. The highest bid submission will not necessarily be accepted.
  • NB Power reserves the right to award a contract to more then one buyer for portions of the work described in this sale.
  • HST (13%) Extra
Important Note for USA/International Bidders: Buyer is the importer of record. All costs associated with Customs, duties, brokerage fees and shipping costs are to the account of the Buyer.
Environment
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
The Owner is committed to managing its environmental affairs consistent with the applicable acts, regulations, standards, and guidelines established by the various regulatory authorities. To demonstrate this commitment, the Owner has implemented throughout its operating companies, environmental management systems (EMS) consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.
The Contractor is required to comply with all applicable environmental protection requirements stated above and shall take all practical measures to preserve the quality of the environment affected by the Contractor's Operations.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Owner is committed to protecting the environment and has implemented Environmental Management Systems consistent with the international standard “ISO 14001: 2004 Environmental Management Systems – Requirements with Guidance for Use”.
The Contractor may be asked to adhere to specific environmental procedures when conducting work that may have an impact on the environment. Depending on the services provided, details on these procedures will be available from your on site contact.
In addition, the Contractor is encouraged to protect the environment and comply with all applicable environmental regulations.
The Contractor must be aware that any burning must be done in accordance with Air Quality Regulations in environmental approved facilities.
If the processing company is outside the Province of New Brunswick, the Contractor must provide documentation from the appropriate transportation and environmental regulatory authorities, plus proof of insurance, which clearly permits the processor and transporters to carry out this work.
The PCB Regulations prohibits any imports or exports of PCB material containing 2 mg/kg (PPM)or more for any reasons to USA and any other country, signatory or not to Basel.
For export to the US, USEPA has indicated to Environment Canada that products containing PCBs must be cleaned of all traces of PCBs in excess of 2 mg/kg (PPM) in order to be exported to the USA for any purpose including recycling reuse, refurbishing and elimination.
