6th Grade Dance/Celebration: Jessie Hurst and Jaime Potter – The 6th grade dance was on January 20th. . We had 162 kids attend. The theme was Neon. Profit was $870.21. This money will go to the 6th grade kids to offset their upcoming end of year Field Trip. There is an excel copy that has been updated for 3 years with all the info for the 6th grade dance for the future Chairpersons! It was a great success and the kids had fun!
Back to School Night:Andrea Purcell– nothing until Next Year
Box Tops: Stacey Cleveland – We got a check for $863.80 inNovember and another check for $700.50 on February 28th (was submitted). Winners were awarded. Mrs. Mitchell’s 5th grade class received prizes last week. We are trying to think of new was to make more money through Box Tops or other avenues similar to Box Tops.
Carnival: Winter Wonderland Themed Carnival. Great attendance. Profit was around $5500.00 (we made a little over $6000.00 last year) see the breakdown of Profit vs. Cost. Overall a fun community night with positive feedback. Need to figure out our volunteer situation for next year as well as ways to lower our prize costs- donations??Jousting was a first-time event and seemed to be well received. If we do Jousting next year, we need to put a time limit or make the rules clearer on when it is the next person turn. We also need to supply gloves for the participants. The teachers who worked the ticket sales the night of the carnival mentioned they liked that we didn’t do the package deal for the tickets.
Since it was hard to get as many volunteers as we needed for carnival, we are thinking about making it a requirement that each teacher volunteers at least one hour for them to receive their $250 per year. The teachers at the meeting seemed ok with this idea & thought it was fair.
Also, the teachers requested that we don’t have carnival at the same time as ISTEP next year.
Community Liaison: Amy Brown and Jan Roberts
Marsh-Total Cards Enrolled: 272 Current Points: 187,705Experiencing issues with getting items we've ordered. As of 3/3 Program Headquarters says the issue is that Marsh hasn't approved the items yet. They are“working hard" to resolve this and will ship items as soon as they get approval. We are thinking about looking into other rewards at grocery stores, possibly at Kroger.
Shop for Your School: Amy Brown – Amy is considering moving the shopping night/day closer to Christmas & making it on a Saturday instead of a Thursday night. There were a lot of good ideas around this thought.

Schwan’s: Bobbi Gielerak - 6-week campaign ran Monday, October 24th-Dec 5th. Online info was distributed various ways, no paper information went home. 20% of all sales and 40% on $25 e-gift cards came back to NPE. We raised $138 with only 1 gift card purchase. Following the 6-week period, there has been a 3-month period where we receive 5% of sales. We raised an additional $13 during this period. This period will end in a few days.
Tyner: Bobbi Gielerak - We were to receive 20% of sales if our code were used for online orders. Since the code was activated at the end of August, there have been 4 sales. After making contact with Amber Groce with Tyner today, she said she wanted to discontinue our relationship due to the lack of interest. I let her know that we understood. She said she would send our check for the 20% of sales that were made. She did not give any numbers.
Room Parent Coordinator: Amy Brown- We have now had all 3 of our parties. We will give the kids one more end of the year snack from our $5 envelope drive totaling 5 snacks for $5.00 per kiddo. Parties were a success, great room parents and seem to have a good system for how to run our annual parties.
Spirit Wear: Jan Roberts - Great sale - profit $2,606.31
Scrip:Amy Brown –First fundraiser was in December. We made $233.27. For the spring campaign, we to determine exact dates. Whitney Wortman will be helping with this.
Student Directory & Website, Graphic Design: Jennifer Aldridge- supported the Spirit Wear Sale, Teacher Favorite Things, and Carnival. Always supporting us in every single aspect of our PTO!!!
Sunshine Committee – Decorated for Winter, Valentines, Carnival and will again this spring. Would love feedback from the teachers/staff/Mrs. Eastes if this is something we would like to continue in the future. The teachers seem to like the decorations but having the kids sign their names on leaves or snowflake cutouts made the lunch room too chaotic. Their solution was for us to put the leaves or snowflake cut outs in their mailbox & they will have their student sign their names on them & then get them back to us. A thought for next year is only do decorations once a semester & who ever is in-charge, make sure the decorations are still looking good each week. If the curtains are falling down, fix it, etc.
Teacher Appreciation: Jessie Hurst and Andrea Purcell - In November, We collected 80+ pies for our entire NPE staff, teachers and bus drivers. In December, we distributed “Favorite Things” list to our teachers and staff and then uploaded them to our website for families to access for Christmas gifts. We also hosted our annual Christmas party. This year was at Mrs. Eastes Home and catered by Kopper Kettle. We played games and had some giveaways. In January, we had a treat cart and in February we had an ISTEP Survival Table with grab and go snacks for our teachers to stash during the week of ISTEP. We are planning an April Treat Cart and Teacher Appreciation Week Celebrations May 1-5. We are going to have lunch one day- considering options. Teachers love this!!
Yearbook: Angela Phillips- No summary submitted. Codi will follow up with Angela this week.
