Remuneration - £8.10 per hour
Hours of work:8 to 10 hours per fortnight (fixed times: 9.30-4.40 Thursday)

Essential:
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and empathy
- Previous experience working with older adults
- Experience overseeing volunteers
- Experience liaising with community partners
- Excellent organisational skills
- Competent IT skills
- Self-motivated with good initiative and ability to work independently.
Preferred:
- Knowledge/understanding of dementia
Job Description:
BrightShadowis an innovative performance company and social enterprise who’s mission is to enable people living with dementia and those who love and care for them to live well and to thrive. We are a growing organisation and as part of that growth we will be delivering workshops for people living with dementia and their family/carers in two locations in Thanet on a fortnightly basis. We are looking for an enthusiastic workshop assistant to assist the facilitator on a fortnightly basis, plus liaise with participants in-between sessions. Initially these workshops will take place on Thursdays but are subject to change at a later date. Your role would include:
- Maintaining electronic and written communications with Project Manager, Facilitator and Administrator.
- Working closely with workshop facilitator to deliver a quality service
- Overseeing volunteers on workshops days
- Acting as point of contact for Bright Shadow with venue, community partners, support organisations and participants on workshop days
- Ensuring that the facilitator has everything they need on workshop days.
- Preparing the room before workshops and clearing up after workshops
- Joining in with workshop wherever possible and assisting participants to engage fully
- Ensuring participant fees are collected and relevant evaluation forms are completed when required
- Monitoring attendance and participation of client group and reporting to Project Manager on a weekly basis
- Phoning participants earlier in the week to remind them about the service and to arrange transport for those who require it
- To induct new participants prior to first attendance when necessary.
- In consultation with project manager, attend local networking meetings to promote the service.
Your role will include dementia awareness training. This role will also require you to have an Enhanced DBS check carried out.
This is a fixed term contract with potential to extend/expand pending funding.
