Gilmore City Council Meeting
The Gilmore City Council met in regular session on May 9th, 2016 at the Gilmore City Hall. Mayor Dennis Miller called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm. Council members present are Fields, Frederiksen, Johnson, Dickey. Davis is absent.
Dickey moved, seconded by Johnson, to approve the consent agenda as follows:

· Minutes of the April 11th & 19th, 2016 Council Meeting(s)
· Claims Paid/To Be Paid
· Monthly Clerk’s Report
· Delinquent Acct Report
Vote: Ayes- Johnson, Frederiksen, Fields Nays- 0 Abstain- 0 Absent – Davis Motion Carried
I & S Group presented the council with the results from the Water Infrastructure Study. Nick Frederiksen, I & S Group Engineer, discussed options for correcting the issues within the city’s infrastructure. Bill Goldy, I & S Group discussed financing options with the council. Preston Sandstrom, USDA-Rural Development, was on hand to share with the council what USDA-RD had for financing options for the project. After consideration of all the information, Dickey made the motion to apply for USDA-RD funding of Option #4 of the Water Infrastructure Study. Fields seconded the motion.

Dickey motioned, seconded by Frederiksen to close regular session and open Public Hearing for the Budget Amendment.
Vote: Ayes- Frederiksen, Johnson, Fields Nays- 0 Abstain- 0 Absent – Davis Motion Carried
Discussion included questions and a decision to make a transfer next month from Gas Dept to General fund.
Johnson motioned, seconded by Frederiksen to close Public Hearing and reopen regular session.

Johnson motioned, seconded by Frederiksen to approve Resolution 2016-11 Budget Amendement.
Vote: Ayes- Frederiksen, Dickey, Fields Nays- 0 Abstain- 0 Absent – Davis Motion Carried
Johnson motioned, seconded by Frederiksen to donate from the gas fund the amount of $500 to the City Celebrations committee. Included in that amount is the cost of the port-a-johns.

Dickey motioned, seconded by Fields to approve the proposal for Iowa Codification to recertify the City Code of Ordinances which is required to do every five years. City will pay half during this fiscal year and the other half during the 2017 fiscal year.

Dickey motioned, seconded by Johnson to approve Building Permit #582 for a patio & fence at 406 SE D Ave.
Vote: Ayes- Johnson, Fields Nays- 0 Abstain- Frederiksen Absent – Davis Motion Carried
Johnson motioned, seconded by Frederiksen to approve Building Permit #583 for a shed at 407 SW A Ave.
Vote: Ayes- Frederiksen, Fields, Dickey Nays- 0 Abstain- 0 Absent – Davis Motion Carried

Garden Club/Hometown Pride: Lavonne Hoover updated the council on grants received recently; also shared the presentation information at the school for the rain garden.
Fire Dept: nothing to report
Ambulance: nothing to report.
Frederiksen made the motion to adjourn at 8:19 pm and to schedule the next meeting for June 13th, 2016 at 6:30 pm at City Hall. Johnson seconded.
