Student Government: The student-elected council of eleven members organizes campus picnics and elections, serves on committees, and makes recommendations about issues of student concern. All of these activities require successful use of written and oral communication skills.
The Drama instructor directs two productions a year. These require voluntary student participation not only to act, but also for stage construction, lighting and sound. As an example, "In the Midst of Water: Origin and Destiny of Life" encouraged the exploration of scientific and ethical questions about the beginning and continuation of life. "Customs, Traditions and Celebrations: The Human Drive for Community" is especially suited to the study of diversity and culture. These topics require all the state-level skills and particular knowledge areas depending on the topic.

"Customs, Traditions and Celebrations: The Human Drive for Community" is especially suited to the study of diversity and culture.
