Tobacco (Victorian Health Promotion Foundation) Regulations 2003

1.Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to provide for the appointment of members of the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation.

2.Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 43 of the Tobacco Act 1987.

3.Revocation

The Regulations listed in the Schedule are revoked.

4.Appointment of members to Victorian Health Promotion Foundation

For the purposes of section 21 of the Tobacco Act 1987, the following persons are appointed as members of the Victorian Health Promotion Foundation—

Reg. 4(a) substitutedby S.R. No. 25/2004 reg.3(a).

(a)Professor Richard Smallwood, a person with expertise in health and illness prevention, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31March 2007;

(b)Dr David Hill, a person with expertise in health and illness prevention chosen by the Minister from a panel of 3 names submitted by the Anti-Cancer Council, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2008;

(c)Professor Glenn Bowes, a person with expertise in health and illness prevention, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006;

(d)Lindsay Gaze, a person with expertise in sport or sports administration, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006;

(e)Leanne Grantham, a person with expertise in sport or sports administration, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006;

(f)John Howie, a person with expertise in sport or sports administration chosen by the Minister from a panel of 3 names submitted by the Sports Federation of Victoria, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2008;

(g)Belinda Jakiel, a person with expertise in sport or sports administration nominated by the Minister as representing country sport, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006;

(h)Elaine Canty, a person with expertise in business, management, communications or law, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006;

(i)Dr Judith Slocombe, a person with expertise in business, management, communications or law, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006;

(j)Jerril Rechter, a person with expertise in the arts and arts administration, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2007;

(k)Jane Margaret Fenton, a person with expertise in advertising, is appointed a member of the Foundation for the period ending 31 March 2006.

1.General Information

The Tobacco (Victorian Health Promotion Foundation) Regulations 2003, S.R.No.88/2003 were made on 15 July 2003 by the Governor in Council under section 43 of the Tobacco Act 1987, No.81/1987 and came into operation on 15 July 2003.

The Tobacco (Victorian Health Promotion Foundation) Regulations 2003 will sunset 10 years after the day of making on 15 July 2013 (see section5 of the Subordinate Legislation Act 1994).
