Resident Services Coordinator (Youth Development) – Washington DC

Columbus Property Management, a member of Mission First Housing Group is seeking a part time-20 hours a week

Resident Services Coordinator for its Washington, DC location.

The Resident Services Coordinator (Youth Development) is responsible for supporting the Resident Services Department in developing and managing onsite academic and youth development programs and activities that help build strong families, which help develop viable communities. This positon is responsible for creating a positive safe place for youth to gain academic enrichment, make healthy choice and increase socialization skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage specific academic and youth development programs in the areas of leadership, positive-self-esteem, STEM, arts & crafts and healthy choices.
  • Supervise program participants, volunteers and providers.
  • In coordination with supervisor, seek out new youth program initiatives and funding sources.
  • Create lesson plans and activities that reflect industry best practices.
  • Provide information to residents regarding community resources.
  • Conduct outreach to residents for program events and assist with new strategies for youth and family engagement.
  • Maintain daily attendance records and document other forms of program evaluation to submit each month.
  • Understand, promote and project the corporate mission while performing all work related tasks and responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned that relate to the best interest of youth and the community.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Child Development, Social Work or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience with vulnerable or at-risk youth.
  • Prior classroom/youth development experience is required.

Other Requirements:

Licensed to drive a motor vehicle and has a clean driving record. Available to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Work Schedule - Monday – Thursday 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. (PT -20 hours a week)
